I went tonight and honestly enjoyed it so much much more than when I seen it with Lucie - Alexia is very good! Vocally she's on another level to Lucie to be honest, I kind of feel that producers have brought her back because she's a tried and tested safe pair of hands. I really liked how she plays Elphaba as well, she brings a soft a funny side out in her which makes you feel more empathy for her in the second act in my opinion. I have to say I disagree that Lucy isn't funny, I thought she was pretty funny tonight and got quite a lot of laughs. The one area where I feel she fell short was in the vocal department - she just doesn't match Helen Woolfe for me! The one irk I had tonight was the two women behind me who felt the need to very loudly talk about me being there alone when I sat down, calling me a 'weirdo'. I go to the theatre with last minute deals very often and honestly I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't realise how great it is! . I think both Lucie and Alexa are great. Never found a performance lacklustre. Lucie for us is up there as she acts the part to well as well as that voice! Yeah Lucie is definitely great I’d never dispute that, I just preferred Alexia’s interpretation personally. (I also actually typed a second “much” and forgot to edit it out before it was too late in my original post!)

Seen them everywhere all week on the tube including some of the digital boards. They look great!

Not sure if anyone listens to Sentimental Men podcast but they latest episode features Lucie and Talia (former bway). Recorded the week before they left. Lucie briefly talks about struggles of it and openly admits about some weeks she can do 8 and then some weeks it’s 3. I know there was a lot of chatter about her absence but this does give into an insight into it.

She does say some absolute twaddle on that podcast. Yes, sometimes she managed 8, but it was about 6 or 7 times across the period of a year (and I'm barely exaggerating)

Same on the In The Frame pod. Going on about how hard 8 a week is. I had to stop listening because it was embarassing.

I didn't think it was too bad on In The Frame, but for Sentimental Men there were a lot of awkward "Yay me, Yay Us" moments.
Otherwise, I can definitely recommend Sentimental Men for Wicked fans.
My personal favorites are: Stephanie J Block and Julia Murney for their origin stories Jenny DiNoia, she talks about her London run too Carla Stickler, for her (hilarious) Elphaba debut and her 2-show broadway comeback during covid

The way they trailed the sent men episode it seemed like tea would be spilt but it was just a mutual admiration society. Talia also came across as very complainy to me. I usually love their podcast but this one was a bit of a snooze fest.

The sentimental men podcast with Lucie and Talia has been removed and all teaser clips are gone from social media. I wonder if they said something they shouldn’t have? I listened to most of it and didn’t pick up on anything controversial. Maybe the bit about Lucie’s company manager telling her she’s good enough to go on even when she cannot give 100%.

What’s the performance schedule for the new cast?
Don’t tell me… there isn’t one. Why would there be when they’ve got away with it for the past year?

What a load of drama about something that seemed pretty innocuous.

Making a massive deal about the new cast, but not telling customers when they’re not performing. Result: hyped up customers being disappointed that they didn’t see the advertised cast member. Exactly what’s been happening for the last year with Lucie.

Result: hyped up customers being disappointed that they didn’t see the advertised cast member. Exactly what’s been happening for the last year with Lucie. I do get what you're saying, but I still would say the average Joe doesn't care who they have on and that makes up the majority of the audience I say? Do they make a massive deal about new cast other than just announcing a new cast? I like that on the Wicked website, you are able to see when there is holiday booked for the leads, which is helpful and realistically they don't even need to do that? They don't owe anyone anything really, in my opinion.

I’d counter that by saying if the average Joe doesn’t care, why are they plastering the underground with an ad campaign featuring the two new leads. The intention is very clear and indeed is something to be celebrated. But when people then buy a ticket and turn up to find one or even two white actors playing these iconic roles they’re expected to swallow it?
With regard to holidays being published on the website, Lucie’s many days off weren’t published hence the massive disappointment over the last 12 months. Ok maybe it wasn’t “holiday” but it wasn’t sick leave either, not in all cases anyway. Bottom line is that she didn’t show up for a LOT of her performances with no rhyme, reason or explanation given to people who had bought tickets to see her.
Producers of this show, and others, are taking the piss.

We didn't all give Lucie grief a week in when she went off - a lot of us started that after a few weeks/months when what was happening became apparent.
I'd argue producers are not taking the 'piss' currently - there's scope to say they were in 2022-23 when the situation became as out of control as it was, but we are week 2 of a new cast. These people have just done four weeks of rehearsals, tech, they're knackered and there's some horrid bugs going round in London.
Let's give it a couple of weeks before we accuse the producers of carrying on their tactics from the last contract eh?

Hi - long time lurker, first time poster, so I don’t know if this is allowed (please delete if not) but I was just wondering if any of you have seen the videos of the production in Brazil and whether you feel the UK version needs a revamp like this?

Do we know whether the new covers have gone into rehearsals yet as at the moment Lisa is the only cover for Glinda until the new covers have been rehearsed in and only two Elphaba covers at the moment

I have to say I found their comments about ‘Meh-phabas’ (other actresses who play the role but ‘don’t always give 100%’) to be quite rude and disrespectful. Though I doubt that’s enough to warrant the episode being removed.
