I think Elphaba will be Amy Ross/Webb, and Glinda could be anyone really. As much as I liked Amy Webb as Elphaba (and I really liked her Elphaba), would the producers really bump her up and take what is a huge gamble on her being able to manage eight huge sings a week? I am not so sure.

I think it’s safe to say some tour cast will come to London! Hopefully Amy R & W will join!
I do wonder if Aaron Sidwell will join? He’s posted about being excited about his new role and Lucie Jones (who we know has been auditioning) has re-tweeted with love hearts! Maybe reading too much into that but who knows?
I wonder if Helen Woolf will come to London, she’s been with Wicked years but deserves lead in London, I can see her journey being very similar to Ginna Claire Mason on Broadway!

London do love their "star" casting Fiyero's so it really would not surprise me.

I’m thinking he will be in the We Will Rock You tour.
I’d rather he didn’t join the Wicked cast. He was the weakest Fiyero I’ve seen in all three disciplines.

I wanna see Hannah Waddingham as Morrible. It'll never happen, but I wanna see it.

They really seem to recycle their Glindas in the US.

Ever have those moments where you go "god, just look at Rachel Tucker"?? 😍😍 I know I’m in the minority but I could never warm to Rachel as Elphaba ... and I saw her 4 times so gave it a fair chance!

Just who would you consider the last "star" cast as Fiyero. The last few certainly were/are not.

I started writing my whole list but it became too long and I can’t really rank them after the first 10, they’re all fabulous at what they do and I think it’s easy to get desensitised to how incredible a woman has to be to pull this role off so hats off!! My top few will always be Cassidy Janson, Idina Menzel and Jackie Burns - three actresses with incredible voices but first and foremost incredible story tellers.

I’ve only seen two - Amy and Alice - they are both such different portrayals, but I definitely preferred Amy, as her storytelling skills were divine. I felt how her character felt, and I definitely related to the way she played it.

Does anyone have the link to that program someone made a few years ago? A sort of pit each Elphie you've seen against each other and it creates your ultimate Elphie list.

I can't rank mine, too many and I've seen a couple of them only once. But my favourites are probably: Willemijn Verkaik & Christine Dwyer

Is everybody too young to have seen Idina and Kerry Ellis’ original (and superior) run? They just don’t seem to figure on peoples lists of potentially their most thrillifying nights in theatre?

I saw both Idina and Kerry (in her original run) and yes, those were my favourite nights at Wicked. To be fair I pretty much stopped going after the first two years of the show's run apart from one visit to see Rachel Tucker in her original run and one visit a few years ago to see a friend play Fiyero.
So when it comes to comparing the two to more recent leads I'm the wrong person to ask. But for me Wicked just wasn't the same when I returned later on.

I saw Kerry when she came back from Broadway, so technically still part of her original run given she didn't really have a break. I like Kerry a lot but still think Rachel is far superior. I haven't been back since Rachel's last though, so I can't comment on any more recent casts. I have no real desire to go back unless the casting really excites me.

It’s just that the young’uns don’t seem to get exactly how massive the whole thing was on opening. Idina was everything she needed to be back then, and Kerry better still when she first took over and wasn’t bored stiff by it. Putting something that big and shiny and new in a location a tube ride away from Shaftesbury Avenue was a risk. A minimal one, but risky all the same. The wendies all moaned about Helen Dallimore not being a carbon copy Glinda, but she gave a quite heartbreaking performance that’s a lot similar to the better Glindas these days (Beck, Pilkington) than the vapid airhead of Cheno’s take on it. You saw her journey and self realisation. Margolyes brought some stagey gravitas (but no singing) and the renovation of the Apollo Vic added glamour. It was event theatre.

I saw Kerry twice back in the original run and I feel the same, no other Elphaba or experience at Wicked has come close for me. The closest were potentially Willemijn or Julia Murney
