Melanie took the win with her fierceness. Amazing. Liked the Sophie pics but think Alice's shots could've done with looking darker, more emotive and (dare I say it) More professional?? I agree! These pictures look very staged! Not that others in the past haven't, but these are very emotionless! I hate the way the pictures are edited these days! The TWAI and NGD pictures almost look like 2 different people! For anyone who watches Hollyoaks all I see is Neeta in the NGD pic! 🙈 Totally getting the Neeta!

It's clear I'm in the minority but I love the pictures!

About half and half here. I love the No Good Deed pic (what a great shot of THAT dress), and the pics of Morrible, The Wizard and Fiyero are good hints of what they might be like as the characters. (I think I can really get on board with the long dark haired Fiyero quite easily). I think they missed a trick with Glinda, somehow her pics don't seem to have that spark to them. Hopefully she gets some better shots at some point.
I'll be giving the show a little while to settle after this weekend and popping back in the Autumn once the new cast has bedded in. Still got a couple of friends who haven't seen it so I'll be queuing for a pair of dayseats and phoning up at 10 to say "go, go, go".

If that is for Saturday be sure to double check with the box office. Its not unknown for them to limit it to 1 per person per performance at cast change

Call me biased (because I love her) but the current shot of Willemijn flying in DG is amazing, and something different for London!
Praying on Monday when (usually) all the pro-shots are released we get something similar to this! 👍🏼💚

No, I'm not going this weekend, sorry, I wasn't clear there. I went 5 days ago! I just meant "after the cast change" generally. I know Alice is hardly new to the role but however good the individual actors are, they always seem to gel better as a group after a while.

I get that it probably helps sell the show knowing that there is flying etc. (Using the term flying loosely here) but I didn't want my friend to see it as she hadn't see the show before. Can nothing be a surprise? I guess it's weighing up the surprises vs. ticket sales.

I've taken the decision to not go on Saturday. Other factors have contributed but I was feeling increasingly disinterested anyway and decided I didnt need to see the show once more and I'm happy enough to leave my Wicked journey at the previous visit. So....for the last time, I've seen Wicked

tbh don't like the photos off Sophie as Glinda at all, one of the first Glindas in ages where i would say the wig and everything does not suit her at all

Really? I don't think it suits her any less than any of the others. In fact, her and Carly Anderson look spookily similar.

I agree with shady23, I remember seeing Savannah for the first time and being surprised she was a brunette in real life! I think Sophie looks great and the fact she's a little younger is exciting! Looking forward to seeing her on Monday!

Glinda's short wig is not exactly the height of fashion-ation, very few could pull that one off! I always do marvel how they can hide their real hair under it, especially the likes of Emily Tierney. Team Wigs earning their money!

Post production work on this image is awful. You can actually see the line by the dress where they've added an overlay and forgotten to match it up to the dress edge

i usually like Matts work but some of these do seem too retouched. But then that does seem fashionable in photography these days

The amount of different shots you can do are "limited", although saying that I'd quite happily never see another photo shopped cornfield fight scene or Nessa holding up the mirror!

Does anybody have some experience with cast change day seating? I was hoping to get two tickets for the matinee and was wondering if getting to the theatre at 5 am would be enough or too late?

Sometimes they change the rules for cast change and restrict the day seats to one per person and show instead of the usual two per person (i.e. one can buy either one ticket for the Matinee, or one for the Evening or one for each show, but not two for one show), so you might want to doublecheck the policy with the box office.
Also, I think 5am might be a bit late.

The Wicked website confirms on the day seat page "One ticket per person, per show" on 22nd July.

I think 5am will definitely be a struggle. You might get lucky but the queue is normally quite big by that time on cast change day

I'd love to see a pic of Elphaba in the INTG costume. Something about the vulnerability in that scene that could make for a really lovely contrast with the promo pics.

Thanks everyone! I was hoping most people would go for the evening but it seems like I underestimated the fandom.

Thanks everyone! I was hoping most people would go for the evening but it seems like I underestimated the fandom. If you're up for trying anyway and don't mind an early start, I see no reason not to try... you never know if everyone took the same approach as you thinking 5am is too late then no one would be there!

Its the ones who come straight out of the Friday night show and start the queue you need to watch. There's normally a few. If you need 2 for the matinee though both of you will need to queue

Just keep in mind that they'll only sell you one ticket for the Matinee. If you want two, bring a friend along.
