did the north american tour use a revolve? yes - fun fact the West end version was based on the North American tour and its set - NOT the broadway production. the set was basically a modified version of the us too set - that is how it got from Dublin to London so fast.

did the US Tour set differ greatly from Bway?

Leeds also have the same tweet. I was giving up hope of it coming near me, as four closer venues aren't saying anything yet ... I'll have to wait and see what tomorrow brings! I'm expecting to be away both weekends of the Leeds dates - but I see it's also coming to Newcastle, which is actually closer to me - they kept that quiet with no hints yesterday! I'm also contemplating a couple of other further away venues, but will leave it until nearer the time to see how I feel. Hope to book Newcastle when it goes on sale, and I'm also considering opening weekend in Leicester.

did the US Tour set differ greatly from Bway? slightly different size - broadway had live trees all other versions are faux. biggest visual difference will be the front edge of the stage and the most downstage trees (which had fake roots / carried over the front of the stage) the set was designed to be more easy to move (you wouldn't notice form the front its all based on the construction) and strangely all the lighting was on pre rigged truss so not every light had to be hung individually. --- The revolve is more to do with reducing the get it time and the get out because get out crews get paid a thing called TMA rate which gets charged back to the touring Produciton and it is extortionate.

So far, booked for opening in Leicester, Edinburgh (x2), an eye on Leeds and definitely booking Newcastle. At least two visits in Newcastle, because it involves sets of people who do not go together. It's possible I may have a problem.

I've just booked for one show in Newcastle - will keep an eye on how quickly it's selling before deciding when to book anymore. (Booked opening weekend in Leicester a while ago.)
The theatre staff in Newcastle there believe they're getting the revolve as they're currently not selling the front three rows of the stalls, and gave this as the reason when I asked.

I’m sure it’s mentioned further back in this thread but there is a fantastic documentary ‘You Are Here-A Come From Away story’ on you tube, detailing the events and people of CFA. This show is so special and details such an important part of modern history that it is hard not to feel the same emotions you feel watching the show. Highly recommended.

Brilliant final question on Pointless Celebrities last night - they selected the topic "21st century Broadway musicals". The three options were to name any song on the soundtrack of 1) Waitress 2) Come From Away or 3) Frozen I was pleased to get many pointless answers (For anyone not aware of how the show works, the aim is to find an answer that none of the 100 people surveyed said.) More information provided in spoiler tags below so as no to spoil it for anyone who might want to watch it. {Spoiler - click to view} The contestants chose songs from Frozen. All the songs from CFA were pointless answers apart from Me and the Sky, Welcome to the Rock and 38 Planes. I was quite surprised someone said 38 Planes over some of the others.

I was screaming ‘Bad Idea -Reprise’ at my sky glass, which prompted it to suggest any number of things and made me need to rewind it a bit to hear the answers. Love ‘Pointless’.

Any news on casting for the tour? Really hoping they don't stunt cast Beverley... I heard that they were hoping some authenticity would seep into the characterisation by hiring an actual Beverly…step forward Ms.Callard! 😑😩🤦♂️

UK Tour cast has been announced: comefromawaylondon.co.uk/cast-creative/#the-castSara Poyzer as Beverley should be good (and nice to see finally do something which isn't Mamma Mia) A few other names I recognize from various West End shows - Oliver Jacobson, Rosie Glossop, Natasha Barnes, Alyn Hawke. Mark Dugdale is the only returning cast member from the West End production.

I have to admit I’m a bit disappointed. I’m sure this cast will be fantastic and I’ll love every one of them once we’re five minutes in, but I’d hoped from some more familiar faces from the West End production.
Probably a bit much to ask with such a gap since closing, and I know people don’t always want to tour anyway!

Great to see Dan Crowder playing Nick (& others). He is consistently ‘the one you watch’.

One or two nice bits of casting but on the whole..... a bit of a disappointment.

Intrigued to know who you thought might be cast?
Do we think they’ll add an interval to aid bar sales?

I think lots of fans assumed that standbys would take up roles in the tour (I didn't and am really happy with most of this casting actually)
They won't add an interval - it'll spoil it too much.

I’m not underwhelmed, but then I suppose I’m not overwhelmed either, by the casting announcement.
Looks like a decent group of performers and can’t wait for it to come around now.

Did anybody bag a £1 ticket for the public dress rehearsal this afternoon? There are still some available via the Curve website if you are local and can spare the time.

Yes, I just got back from that - spotted it and couldn't resist. The show is in fine form and tonight will be fantastic. I do miss the revolve a bit, but it's nothing crucial. The dress went ahead later than planned, apparently due to the need to rehearse one of the standbys (no pressure, going on first night!). No idea who as they didn't say, but I certainly didn't notice anything during the show itself so whoever it was, it was seamless from an audience perspective.

Saw on social media, looks like it was Angeline Bell (dance captain) thrown on as Hannah- hats off to her!
