!!! Doesn't really work @caiaphas if, like me, you pronounce scone the way scone should be pronounced, to rhyme with stone! Pronouncing scone to rhyme with stone is as much sacrilege as getting the jam and cream the wrong way round! I think we might need a separate thread (and polls) to debate this...

Out of fear of getting it wrong I pronounce scone as "(points finger) one of those" or, in desperate circumstances where that won't work, as "oh, um, er, a packet of ready salted crisps, please".

It's odd getting snow in March. Even in Edinburgh? I think I've seen more snow in March in Poland than in Edinburgh.
