Came home to find that the owners of the garden backing on to mine had chopped down all their trees so now I have a lovely view of them in their kitchen. Gonna buy a tree!

Lovely weekend here too. A final Funny Girl on Saturday and then Top Hat at Kilworth last night. What a fabulous production - I'd say "go" but it's sold out. Is the Kilworth production very similar to the previous one? The production pictures on BWW the other day showed extremely similar-looking costumes. (I can't go, not only due to the sold-out-ness but because the venue appears to be prettyy inaccessible unless you have a car, which I don't.) I guess it is... but Dan Burton is a far superior lead to the previous incumbent, IMHO. His dancing has always been sublime, but his voice is maturing beautifully (debut album 'Broadway Melodies' out soon I believe!). The Kilworth productions are somewhat unique - lack of wings, fly tower, etc., mean they have to be imaginative with the staging, but they do so with a knowing humour that makes the audience feel part of the deal while not detracting or distracting from the very real quality of the performances. Great casts, great creatives, great fun. But yes, not overly accessible if you're without wheels. And chilly, if you're without the almost permanent hot-flush I'm currently 'enjoying'!

Worked a ridiculous number of hours today, but the last couple have included wine and Billy Elliot (on Sky Arts) on the side, which made them entirely more palatable. Now to catch up with what I've missed...
Speaking of which, Barnum? At the Menier? OK... that I gotta see.

Today is my 'Monday' and it's back to earth with a bump...I'm trying to keep my happy positive momentum for the future as I live the last dark days of the current job...and not succumb to blind panic. And also right now extreme boredom.

I *think* I'm packed for New York tomorrow. I have ordered my dollars to pick up later. Need to check-in online but then I might be done?
Doesn't quite feel right without a last-minute, panicked scramble. Going to 42nd Street with a colleague tonight and then staying over at my travel buddy's, so needed to be a bit more organised than usual.
Might watch a DVD...

As long as you have a Passport, phone and credit cards you should be able to get by....I DO recommend clothes though. They usually help.

I've just seen a dinosaur. I don't think it was real, but the kiddiwinks were loving it nonetheless.

And hope you feel better soon, Dawnstar. If nothing else, the spiders may catch what you had and they'll be sorry they came near you. Sadly my germs do not seem to be putting the spiders off, judging by the large specimin I found perambulating across our kitchen worksurface late last night.

Hate the critters. *shudders* I currently have 3 burly Poles about to hoist our piano into a skip. So far they have pulled it away from the wall from where it has been situated for 14 years. I wish it were only spiders who have made their homes in the cosy, melodic crevices behind........😫😬😱🙉

Does that 4th emoji mean you found @theatremonkey lurking behind your piano?

You can't tease us with such things Well, I can try.....but why you want to see pictures of arachnids and other creepy crawlies is beyond me..... And the Poles aren't flavour of the month with my neighbours as they managed to turn off half the street's water....oopsie! Since we moved in here no plumber has ever found the tap in the house so they have to turn it off from the street - trouble is if your English isn't very good you might muddle up "The third manhole from the left" sort of stuff......

Update: realised what I forgot to pack when already on the train. Nothing crucial! So I feel perversely better knowing what I forgot - I always forget something!

I'd put this on the noticeboard but there isn't time - if anyone wants to go to The Majority with me at the NT tonight I've got a spare ticket. I don't want anything for it. Lemme know.

Wait are YOU the new Spiderman? Nah, just hang around on the web quite a lot. Do I need to say it? Taaaxxxxxiii Also good, because we all know I have eyes for only one Spider-Man* *confession, I have never seen any Spider-Man films. Also does anyone else hear Phoebe from friends when they say 'SpiderMan' "It's not Mr and Mrs Spidermen"

I have never seen any Spider-Man films Me neither. The TV cartoon was OK when I was a kid, but never read the paper comic strip either, now I think about it. Another cultural experience I never got into. Frasier, Cheers and Rosanne, yes. Friends, never did. Similarly I was obsessed with the X Men cartoons on TV but not so much the films.... ...Ah Monkey I've never seen Cheers or Rosanne and only Frasier in dribs and drabs on Saturday mornings. I got into Friends relatively late, but being a 90s teen it was kind of the law.
