The show I’m going to in Sunderland has literally 16 seats left out of a 2,200 seat theatre. Their strategy of “exclusive and final x engagement” seems to be working.
That said, Sunderland does look to be the worst selling venue too.

Best available for thirty pounds now for the Wednesday matinées. I've just went to book for the last Wednesday matinee and it's still trying to charge me normal prices. Where did you see this?

It was on an ATG promo email. Just on for two matinées 12th and 19th and you need to use the promo code. It's on my work email so I will find the code when back at work next week.

I think when the run starts, they will discount unsold seats, or do a sort of "dayseat" system at the box office in which you buy the unsold seats at cheaper prices. They will probably want to sell every single seat, and this seems like the best way to do it.
I wish I'd booked for later in the run. In Edinburgh, I was quite late and didn't have Amy at her best because she was struggling with hay fever and a neck injury, and I'm getting anxious that she won't be on at all this time because it's the matinee after press night.
I would love to see Nikki but I really really wanna see Amy again because it's my last chance to see her before the tour ends.

Sunderland never do dayseats. Unfortunately. I remember reading on the back of a Matilda leaflet I picked up at Eldon Square that they did the £5 ones for students or 16-25 railcard holders. Is that just Matilda's policy?

Is that just Matilda's policy? That is a Matilda UK Tour policy not a Sunderland policy unfortunately. Sunderland are disgraceful for discounting. I'm hoping they'll follow suit of the the other ATG Venues on tour and do £15/20 student tickets, just so I don't have to spend too much money on catching Nikki as many times as possible. However I'm doubting it.

I found out just after the tour left Edinburgh that they did a Young Scot card discount in that particular theatre. Kicking myself that I didn't think to use my card for getting cheap tickets.

It's a very fine line between wanting every seat sold v reducing the price and risking annoying those that have already paid full price.

Some of the prices are a joke. £85 for mid-stalls? Who the hell is going to pay that?!? Matilda is just as bad for charging West End prices for national tours.

Bit of promotion in Manchester yesterday as they got Elphaba (whoever is playing her on tour, they didn't announce her name) to perform Defying Gravity on the main stage at Pride. Very impressive performance but can't believe they brought her over from Ireland for just one song!

I can’t be the only one who feels the tour has been in Dublin forever? Dunno why they got it longer than any other venue.

I can’t be the only one who feels the tour has been in Dublin forever? Dunno why they got it longer than any other venue. I am not sure if Dublin is getting it for longer than other venues but if it is maybe it is due to the fact Dublin is the only venue in the Republic of Ireland. (i.e - the only venue in the whole country) so the demand is going to be a lot greater than other venues. You have people traveling 3/4/5 hours from other places in Ireland to get to Dublin to see the show so a longer sit down period is justified.

Plus harder and more expensive to ship the set and equipment all the way over there.

I’m going out on a limb to say it’s maybe a day or so longer but I’m sure martello736 will be able to tell us...

The tour has been in Dublin for 7 weeks, which makes it a week longer than Zürich and two weeks longer than Edinburgh. I think it's gone quite quick considering I wasn't able to pay a visit to Dublin. (That might be me wishing Sunderland to be sooner because the theatre is a mere 20 minutes away)

The run in Dublin has been from 17th July - 1st September. I don't find this run particularly long. I think also because it's the only venue for all of Ireland the stay is quite justified. Two weeks ago when I was attending the show I met a large group who traveled down from Belfast to catch the show. For me personally it's a three hour bus to get to Dublin, and another three hour bus home, so the length the tour has stayed has been perfect to allow me to catch it a few times and manage it around work and a social life.

I'm genuinely really surprised to hear that a Wicked fan whose closest venue is Dublin doesn't think the tour has been in Dublin for too long Conversely, the tour isn't stopping in my front room for anywhere near long enough

It seems that everyone’s favourite YouTube troll (the one who uploaded a video of Laura Pick apparently slaughtering the Wizard and I) is at it again, commenting harshly about Amy R’s performance when she’s never seen her live! This is on a recently uploaded video of Nikki performing at Pride...
Benjamin Yates has noticed and stepped in, giving her a piece of his mind! Then she has the audacity to continue slagging Elphies off to him before saying ‘PS You are a fab Fiyero’. Goodness me. And she calls herself a ‘fan’?! A disgrace!

I am certainly not defending the trolls but this is the Internet! On any and every video you get the same. Not every comment is going to be "omg absolutely amazing".
In giving this misguided person attention it gives her (in her eyes) the green light to continue.
Her and all the other trolls are absolutely desperate to be noticed, to get attention and to get a reaction. Whether good or bad

Great to see some of the covers finally getting to go on... Jason Broderick made his Boq debut last week and Hannah Cadec was on for Nessa today.
Whilst not huge roles you have to take your hat off to Iddon and Emily, 10 months without missing a show until now!

Emily, 10 months without missing a show until now! Sorry to sound picky welsh_tenor but Emily has actually missed some shows during the Edinburgh run. Grace Chapman (1st U/S) went on for Emily. I saw Grace in Edinburgh and can say without a doubt she is the BEST Nessa I have ever seen! She was amazing!!! I take it Steven Pinder hasn't missed a show too? I haven't heard of any missed shows ...

I was meant to be at the show today but couldn't make it due to illness, even more upset after finding out Hannah went on as Nessarose!
