Tonight was described as a "half-fly" show anyone care to elaborate? I can't say for certain, but i would imagine that either the lift went up so late that she only flew for half the usual amount of time, or that the lift only went to half the usual height. They seem to be having some serious problems with the lift lately!

Didn't Martello tell us months back that London need to send a full report grovelling to the American producers every time there's a no-fly show? So what's going to have happened now after 4 and a half in a row!

It must be a bit of a disappointment for first timers who are anticipating the huge fly.
(I wonder if the American producers also want to see copies of the riff request forms?)

I wonder why they designed that effect with a hydraulic lift when it’s clearly unreliable and doesn’t even look that good when it does work. They could have just hooked her on wires and flown her properley.

They could have just hooked her on wires and flown her properley. I've seen videos of amateur productions that use wires and smoke around her feet and sends way more chills down my spine. Way more magical. Probably something to with safety? However I'd say Glinda's bubble is less safe than the lift.

I doubt that the number of times it has failed has gone much over double figures. In over 12 years of shows that's not a bad record.
It's not in the same league as the ridiculously unpredictable Charlie's Glass Elevator!

It is an online form that cc’s Schwartz, Platt, McCabe and Menzel, and needs at least two of the four to ok it before a single wobbly, misplaced, ill advised wail can be uttered. If Schwartz or Idina were remotely computer literate we could have saved ourselves Shoshanna Bean! 😂

Amy Webb on this afternoon apart from that full main cast. DG had the same lift problem. Didn't look like she was going in the air but pretty late on she eventually did. Good performance from her and nice riff in No good deed.

Amy W on tonight too for press night.
With Amy R and Nikki both ill, Amy Goodwin may have a decent chance of making her debut despite being fourth cover!

I wonder if this lift is the same as the one used in the San Fransisco production, I recall they had similar issues with the lift, with it out of action for a while due to parts being needed?
Fingers crossed for an Amy Goodwin show! I recon if Amy R and Nikki aren't back by Saturday she may get the matinee? But what a difference a day makes, everyone could be well again by tomorrow!
Amazing we already have 3/4 Elphaba's performed after 2 months, but I'm not complaining, it will help everyone in the long run to have Standby's and Understudies perform more often ... and be good for the fans of course!! 👌🏼🙈

Amy Goodwin doesn’t seem to have been on despite being ‘1st cover’ swing for some of the ensemble tracks (Amy Webb’s being one) conscience decision to keep her as standby Elphaba? Lower the risk of having no one within the company able to play the role, or is she also ill? I’d love to see her get an Elphaba show especially as she’s already had a Glinda show. Would love for her to get the chance to be both Elphaba and Glinda in front of an audience

Is Amy Goodwin fully rehearsed yet? I thought they were going through the process of still rehearsing 2nd covers. Or will it be as case of 'She rehearsed enough, we just haven't done cover runs yet'

Amy G normally does the press night photos in costume but didn't even do that yesterday. They have definitely wrapped her in bubble wrap and have put her in a cupboard somewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if an old Elphaba has not travelled up to Liverpool too.

Jessamy Stoddart was hanging around the AV a couple of days ago when Aimee Fisher and Alexandra Grierson were sick and Laura Pick still on holiday so there is a possibility they've sent her up.

I’d concur with the comments that Amy would probably be standing by, she’d been tweeting towards the end of the Bristol run that they’d been rehearsing so presumably they tried to complete the 2nd cover rehearsals before finishing up in Bristol.

Blimey, how many Amys are there in this show? Jessamy Stoddart was hanging around the AV a couple of days ago when Aimee Fisher and Alexandra Grierson were sick and Laura Pick still on holiday so there is a possibility they've sent her up. I asked before somewhere but don't think I got an answer, has Alexandra ever been on as Elphaba?

So apparently Jessamy has been standing by in Liverpool as Amy’s Ross and Goodwin were sick, so too Nikki which left just Amy W going on green.
Amy Ross is expected back tonight and Amy G is on as Swing in the ensemble. In other news the lift seems f****d and it sounds hillariously bad!

http://instagram.com/p/BgEsj5xHlkG Apart from the delayed lighting at the start it still looks okay! I like how the lift kind rises as the ensemble appear, like she's flying away from them!

Looks strange, but effective. I think this tour might be getting a new lift soon though. Is this the set from the old UK Tour or another closed productions set? (One of Americas closed tours or sit downs?)
Also if that's Amy Webb, that voice and those lungs 😍

Amy Ross is back on tonight. And yes welsh_tenor Jessamy has indeed been on standby in Liverpool. Judging by that short clip the lift seems to just be very temperamental, I mean it works just only at the end. Must admit I do prefer the way that looks to a complete no fly though, it still builds some of the tension and drama that scene needs. I agree sophizoey , there's no way that current lift will make it through til the end of the tour, not the way it's currently holding up anyway 🤣 Must admit I really like the way Amy sounds on that clip, would love to get the chance to catch her at some point doubt I will though
