Stacey Dooley reminds me of Paloma Faith. Definitely agree both visually and vocally.
Stacey is someone I've never been able to make my mind up on - she is a bit irritating and sounds like a vacuous Essex girl but she makes some good documentaries and has a great personality and no ego etc.
I think she’s very brave and gets people on side well but I don’t think she asks the most probing questions. I always find myself frustrated that I don’t know what I want to at the end of her programmes (I watch them because the topics interest me).

Stacey isn't a trained journalist which is part of her appeal, she won't go as deep as say an Orla Guerin but Orla Guerin didn't work on the perfume counter at Luton Airport!
She actually asked for people to e-mail in topics for her to consider looking into at her talk last week.
I feel that she might benefit from a stronger editorial or writing staff who would prep her with the more taxing questions to ask.

I liked the prog on clothing. It was shocking.

Shirley Ballas appears to have fallen into a vat of shimmer highlighter judging by her ‘décolletage’. Ease off babe.

Dear Mr Guest Judge (whoever you are)
This show is not about you. We don't want to keep hearing your scores. We don't give flying foxtrot.
How is the US on series 19? I thought we invented this show?
Well. How do they judge the 2 own choice dances technically? They moan if a dance doesn't have enough content, but for their own choice they can just basically do a show dance by the looks of things. I know they said they were contemporary and street, but who's actually judging that? That said, Charles and Karen played a blinder (sweepstake money safe for another week I'd say!) and I hated, hated, hated Lauren and AJ's. Only trained ballet dancers should even attempt stuff like that.
Danny was a maze ing.
We thought Vick was doing a salsa until the judges informed us otherwise! I think she'll be in the bottom 2 with either Lauren or Sean(n).
Costumes pretty awful this week. Anyone see the significance of Charles and Karen's stoopid suits? I feel I'm not seeing something obvious. Surely they should have been in ripped jeans and trainers.
I'm struggling to like Shirley.
Tess was cringier than ever tonight.
Love Anita Dobby, but if she'd been any slower reading those terms and conditions we'd have bypassed Halloween and gone straight to Blackpool.

It is an interesting situation, the pros might not be trained in contemporary, or street or whatever but some of the celebs will be.

We did invent the show but Dancing With The Stars is on twice a year in the US.

I really enjoyed Danny and Amy’s dance this week. Think the right people are at the bottom of the leaderboard (I’d love a surprise double eviction 😉). Not impressed with the costumes this series. I agree with the above poster that Alfonso did make every comment about him.

I thought Alfonso was far better than most guest judges they've had in the past - he didn't give a single 10!
Loved Danny & Amy's Jive, deserved to be top. Charles, Faye and Ashley were also good, and Graeme was much better technically than I expected as well as being hugely entertaining.
Thought Ranj and Seann were both rubbish, and Lauren's Contemporary routine was disappointing. Stacey and Kate in the middle for me - both worse than their training footage suggested. Vick's dance wasn't a Cha Cha Cha but that's Graziano's fault, not hers. He is worse than some of the celebs...

We did invent the show but Dancing With The Stars is on twice a year in the US. Ah, that'll be it. Thank you. (I’d love a surprise double eviction 😉). ...or triple. I thought Alfonso was far better than most guest judges they've had in the past - he didn't give a single 10!Yes that's true. His marking was at the higher end of normal. But he did keep making it all about him, which was annoying. Show of hands please, though I think I know the answer. Does anyone else on here NOT read the spoiler? I feel like I'm the only one who merrily plays along with the Beeb's little charade.🤫🤓

I don’t read the spoiler! I like the results show and it’s part of my Sunday evening routine. It’s quite an effort to avoid it though - not on here, everyone’s very good. For which I thank you 😇.

It depends on the week for me (and point in competition) Right now I'm not super invested in any of it so yes I do read the spoiler, but as it gets towards the end I don't because I like playing along!

I liked Alphonso though he was not hot on the dance details. I’m presuming Bruno had a holiday owed to him 😁 I do read the spoiler and it doesn’t spoil my enjoyment at all. I know who dies at the end of Hamlet and yet, there is always something new to discover at that moment. Same with this, always a moment of drama to enjoy.

I have just skipped through to watch all the dances and scores and wondered what the hell the judges were watching.
Not one of the 9s were justified - let alone the 10.
A wobbly rumba does not deserve 36. A frenetic jive that was scrappy round the edges does not deserve 37 and that 'street' dance (which was frankly more village green than urban street) didn't deserve 36 either.
I think the scoring has gone to pot completely.
Not impressed.

I don’t read the spoiler! I like the results show and it’s part of my Sunday evening routine. I'm not keen on the new format for the results show - too much Tess and, certainly for the past 2 weeks, the second couple to be announced have had to go straight into the dance off (ie. dance first) without time to practise, unlike the first couple who have had time to go away into a corner and run through it. Apart from the brilliant pro dance at the beginning (usually) there would be little else to interest me if I knew the result. And Shirley's bizarre marking certainly keeps it interesting right to the end, what with her being Head Judge and all that. I know who dies at the end of Hamlet 🙉🙉🙉 Lalalalalala!

Well not really. The results show isn't filmed in order so we have no idea how long the different couples have.

The results show isn't filmed in order I haven't been, but every report I've ever read says that it's pretty much filmed in real time apart from slotting in the music guest and pro dance that have been recorded previously. Anyone here been?

I hate contemporary daaaance. The minute someone appears barefoot I get ready with the cushion to hide behind. It makes me absolutely cringe at the pretentiousness of it.

Oh I had forgotten about that awful one. It was by far the worst dance of the night. No fluidity, no shape, no musicality. It was horrific. You need to be a great dancer to pull off something like that. And she isn't.

Anyone here been? I'd be surprised if that is the case entirety. It doesn't make any sense from a filming perspective to have the couple's who haven't been called hanging around while they film the Claudia interviews with the saved couples. I would expect they do the entire elimination sequence with judges advice and then move onto filming the Claudia interviews, giving both couples in the dance off some time, and then intercut them for the show itself.

I agree with people who were unimpressed by Lauren's contemporary dance.
Contemporary is such a tough style for a non-professional to pull of. I'm predicting a few shockers along the lines of Lisa Snowdon's show dance. If you haven't seen it then Youtube it - it still haunts me...

Anyone here been? It has to have at least brief pauses because after the first person in the dance-off is announced all the remaining couples walk off, so they'd have to then get back into position to film part two.

Ah, I'm getting too sappy in my old age but (I hate to admit it but) I got a got a bit emotional over Danny and Amy and Charles and Karen.
Both such brilliant dances!

I wonder what Seann and Katya will do for their show dance if they make it past Halloween. Wasn't burlesque one of the options?

I just watched the Dance Off and have decided that Craig is the only one with sound judgement. Vick should have won that. Sean was sh*te.

Craig is no better than the rest of the judges. He's also the most wildly inconsistent when he has his favourites, he's perhaps just more clever at putting it across like it's constructive.

Felt like Craig had taken his nice pills this week, being much more positive than usual.
I think while the routine was a large part of Vick's downfall (I can only remember 3 actual cha-cha steps included off the top off my head), the little cha there was, was not executed well. It's a shame as I thought she had promise, but ultimately someone has to go and the right two were in the bottom (I won't comment on Lauren and AJ as I have a general distain for that type of dance anyway).
I really enjoyed Alfonso. He tried to find a balance between talking about the entertainment factors, whilst also providing substance and advise from his own experience on "the" show. I think a lot of the comments on what he got when he participated were initiated by Tess, so can hardly blame him for that.
