So excited for Assassins and to see Luke Brady again in something.
Will be booking a full priced matinee for this.
It will be my first time attending a show at Chichester

Very quick and pain-free booking this morning. No suprise really as I doubt this gem will be a sell out.

Yep, and there will be supernumeraries as well. It’s a big production!

Really annoyed that I won't be able to see this as it's a great cast, but can only do a Saturday matinee because of distance and travelling. The first Saturday there is only an evening show, the 2nd week I've already got something booked, then I'm on holiday for the next 2 weeks. Let's hope it has another life somewhere.

Grief! Grief beyond imagining and despair!
In Florence, Italy, a woman will jump from the Duomo, clutching a picture of your victim and cursing your name!

Seems a bit of a waste of Peter Forbes to just start the show as the Proprietor after his fab turn as Buddy in both stints of the NT's Follies

Recent video on Chichester's twitter account gives some insight into the staging. Sounds.....Interesting....... Talk of food stands where you can buy food and drink inside the theatre...

Hmm, that bit stood out to me too. I'm hoping it's some kind of pre show setup but I was sure she said "during" which made me do a double take.
Caught a bit of Danny Mac on Sunday Brunch this past week. My main takeaway was him mentioning it being a big production that they're putting a lot of money into and joking about how he doesn't know how they're going to make their money back with such a short run in Chichester. Really, really excited for this one. Maybe less so the idea of food and pints being sold inside the theatre? But we'll see how that part plays out!

Possibly they're going for an immersive feel with the fairground scene at the beginning where each Assassin squabbles over 'winning'a gun as a prize?

I hope it is not too clean, this looks like an advert for chocolates. I remember seeing Jamie Lloyd's production at Menier and really liked it. It was quite scary at times. They pointed guns at the audience, and even knowing they were fake, it was unnerving.
I'll attend press night on the 9th so will report back.

Well, the set and decor is not subtle. Will report back after the performance!

Really, really excited for this one. Maybe less so the idea of food and pints being sold inside the theatre? But we'll see how that part plays out! There is a food stand outside the theatre that’s basically just adding to the usual cafe fare with some hot food. Inside (foyer) you can buy popcorn. I noticed tubs of popcorn sold pre-show inside (and lots of signs encouraging people to get an ice cream even though there is no interval) but it being a Chichester audience I didn’t hear anyone eating popcorn throughout on the side I was on! This is very well cast, very well sung. I was not enthusiastic about the staging when I walked in but the show won me back. (If someone could let me know the spoiler text code please I’ll say more!) I don’t think three balladeers worked too well, I’d much rather have seen just Liam Tamne sing it as his voice is glorious and as much as I love Lizzy Connolly her diction wasn’t clear enough with such quick lines a few times and she got lost in the mix.

I appreciate the info, thank you! I guess I shouldn't have really worried about it given it's Chichester! Looking forward to seeing it in a few days. The website lists the running time as "to be confirmed" - I'm assuming it was the usual 1 hr 45/50?
