Lock it in the Roundhouse for the rest of time…I don’t go on the Northern Line if I can help it so it’ll never bother me. But realistically, this has Drury Lane all over it if the Palladium is clogged up with Dolly. It would sit well in the Dominion too. Hello? Did you not read the bit where I said it was a custom built venue? This isn’t going to a THEATRE. “Doh! Yes purpose built does kind of insinuate that. 😂” can you not read?

I always do wonder what happens to these venues when the show ends. On the Lizzie line I always wonder that going past the ABBA place. The Greatest Showman still commands based on its name value, but in 4-5 years what happens then? Maybe we can have our own little Theatre Disneyland where they put on Disney shows, like on their cruise ships. Would be fine by me

The soundtrack is 40 mins long so they’ll need some more music! Never seen the film but now associate the songs SO much with the abysmal Britain’s Got Talent and diabolical audiences that think would also be a hard pass for me….. No doubt it will run for years though! Decades probs. Only 40 mins?
Now I love me a musical, but even I'd have cut some numbers out from the film.
The stage version will be 1 massive sing along. This Is (not for) Me.

Some of the songs were good but otherwise I was a bit bored by the film so yeah, not one I'll be rushing to.

Disney also have five years left of their lease on Drury lane… but I hope this show doesn’t go there!

So, is it the location of said venue that will be exciting? Obvs there aren’t that many green spaces sizeable enough for a large ‘big top’ in the heart of theatre land? Or has ‘Abba-voyage’ being in the arse end of nowhere made them hopeful that people will travel for it?

Has this been cast? Or casting? CHF has said she’s been to a photo shoot for something she’s involved in in 2025 and ‘we’ll collectively pee ourselves with excitement’ when we find out what it is. This is hot theatre news at the moment. Any guesses? Manford and Fletcher again?

This has the potential to be great, but it needs a cast that you don't find insufferable.

As someone who lives in the doorstep of Stratford i can confirm that it is not in the "arse end of nowhere". In fact it takes 12 minutes to get to Stratford from Tottenham Court Road which is a lot quicker than getting from the west end to Hammersmith.

When you’re coming from a small town in the South West for a day out, faffing around via Canary Wharf or Stratford to Pudding Pie Lane feels like schlepping to a barren industrial wasteland. I guess it’s the price you pay for finding a large enough space for your ‘purpose built venue’. But, yes obviously, anywhere that’s a couple of tube stops away from your home is perfect.

Don’t see the appeal personally but they seem to wheel her out any time they need a stunt cast. I want to see fresh talent. Not just those who have a huge following (on paper anyway) 😉

I’d love to see/hear Celinde Schoenmaker play Jenny Lindt…and maybe Jamie Muscato as Zac Efron.

I’ve only seen Celinde in Guys and Dolls so maybe she has other sides to her voice that I haven’t seen but to me she’d be perfect as the “real” Jenny Lind i.e. an opera singer, but Never Enough is basically more of a pop song as sung in the film so I’d see more of an Elphaba-type “beltress” in that role? Someone who can do light and shade obviously not just a belter but more of a pop voice.
