Didn’t know Cyril Nri was in it. I saw him play Ariel to Max von Sydow‘s Prospero in Jonathan Miller’s Old Vic production in 1988. Quite an odd mix of talents and not very good. i saw that, one of my early forays into Shakespeare, basically went because of the fantastic Von Sydow. Whatever happened to Rudi Davies who played Miranda? You can find out more on her Wikipedia page. Or IMDB page. Or the Facebook group about her.

Unfortunately, due to a back injury Samantha Bond has reluctantly withdrawn from the Almeida’s forthcoming production of Vassa, following medical advice. The part will now be played by Siobhan Redmond, who has recently been seen on stage in Top Girls (National Theatre) and in Imperium I & II (The RSC/West End).

Co-produced by the venue and Kenny Wax (The Play That Goes Wrong, Six), the show is based on Erich Kastner's book Lottie and Lisa (which was adapted into the Disney film The Parent Trap). It has music and lyrics by iconic duo Stiles and Drewe, with a book by Stuart Paterson. Running until 22 August, the production is adapted by Trevor Nunn and has plans to transfer to the West End.

The bus is wheeled on to the stage in pieces and is a pale shadow of the West End one. No flying and a basic set. The bus Priscilla is hardly on stage at all and barely mentioned. Cast and costumes are great though and the show is very funny. Even more of a jukebox musical than I recall from previous productions, with no more than a few minutes between musical numbers, including several that are of no relevance to the story. They just happen, to fit in another song and dance routine. Pure escapist entertainment. Standing ovation tonight at Dartford. 8/10 from me. The bus in pieces sounds like what happened in an amateur production I saw at the Bridewell Theatre a couple of years back. By a group called Sedo’s. The parts of the bus were in the set and they came together to form the skeleton of the bus. I didn’t think it would work when I first saw it but it actually was a clever way to use the reduced space they had. Guess the tour are thinking along the same lines.

Count me in as another enthusiastic supporter of this. I was so involved in the drama I didn't notice any dodgy accents. Also, after the fantastic Small Island, it's good to report of another drama that totally worked on the Olivier's unforgiving stage. Let's give plaudits too to Isaac Hayward. His evocative sounds on the 'prepared' piano and cello really added to the atmosphere and dramatic impact. You didn't notice the lead guy's dodgy accent? It was unforgivably bad. i also thought the whole production was like an amateur group had been dropped on the Olivier stage and told to perform. Was pretty much bored by the interminable pace and not much happening for agggggggggesssssssssssssssssssssss

Presale is open (at least to Theatrecard members). Having seen the prices, I will risk waiting for the offers. Just looked at prices for this too. How can they justify those freaking prices? That's laughable. Weirdly the dates on sale are 14th Feb (so they can open on Valentine's Day) and 15th Feb and then it jumps to 11th March and it's then on sale until 2 Jan 2021. So they must have lots of confidence in it. Will see it at vastly reduced prices sometime in that period, I'm sure

One of the best plays I've seen at the National in ages. A little tentative at the beginning, but by the interval I couldn't wait to find out how it ended. Learned a lot about what happened in that period, and appreciated the balanced view from both sides. The programme is worth reading too. Great acting, strong direction, as others have said an effective set too. Hopefully the NT will bring the Sydney Theatre Company over annually how, as I'd like to see more of their work. Yes it could be good to see them on stage again. Just as long as they don’t roll out their Godawful English and Cockney accents to derail the production again

All stalls and dress Circle tickets appear to have been reduced to £20 for today’s matinee. Including premiums. So worth grabbing a bargain if you can.

Well if we're going down this track... a few others that follow Sam, Nicole and Courtney (within a short space of time) are David Breeds, Lucy Anderson, Jack Loxton, Alex Thomas-Smith and James Winter. I don't know enough about any of them to know if they're just friends/already been in a show together and we're reading too much into this, mostly putting this down out of curiosity so when the cast list comes out I can see if there's any familiar names haha I think we may have our cast (or much of it) right there

Never seen "Fleabag" on TV, deliberately, as I wanted to encounter the play first - never got to it at Soho. So: it's an interesting piece of writing. Phoebe Waller-Bridge isn't the greatest writer nor the greatest actor, but as a combination of the two she is very, very special, I think. I found some of it dated in the #metoo era, and some of it incredibly callous any normal person would call a vet instantly, surely? but it was very human too. 4 stars from me, and I'm going to buy the DVD of the TV series, I think.
