I'm dayseating Funny Girl next Wednesday for myself and a fellow forum member... I feel the last couple of weeks are gonna be hectic so I'm getting there early, not taking any chances haha! I've had success both times so I will be there! Slightly off-topic, but I dayseated Funny Girl on Saturday and anyone who got there after about 7.45 may not have got a ticket (I was there earlier than that so I'm not sure exactly when the cut-off was, but the front row seats would definitely have been gone by about 7.45 or so, and not sure how many single seats they had left elsewhere!) Back on topic, the anniversary will be the first time I've ever been in the circle at the AV (I'm row K I think!), so I'm not bothered if the lottery is the stalls, I'll be getting a different perspective on the show anyway. I really enjoy being in the circle at the AV, I prefer it to the stalls although I've only ever been in the first few rows of the stalls which was great but I think I'd prefer it a bit further back.

That YouTube guy and his 2 friends were totally the ones before me in the day seating queue back in Dec. when Laura Emmitt went on... aka the only time I saw Wicekd this decade- what a wierd coincidence.. yeah they were constantly talking as if they knew the cast personally- tweeting them and the like. One of them who is in the vlog said she started seeing Wicked last year and has been around 60 times, the other was well over 100- so you can guess the 'type' of fans they are I guess I genuinely don't understand how they have the money or time?!!!

Does anybody else love it when Rachel holds onto her second 'Bring me down' in DG until she absolutely needs to bring it off? I think hearing her vibrato ring out clearly over the ensemble and echo slightly afterwards adds something to Elphabas desperation/determination.

Going on sat..know nothing about it. The story, the songs...Not a bean...proper virgin etc..Love reading all your passion for this production. Feel very late to the party.... Please come back and let us know what you thought - love it or loathe it! Rachel was the first actress I ever saw in the role as Elphaba back in 2010 and she completely blew me away. Her acting, her vocals, everything. I hope you get as much enjoyment out of her performance as I did on my first time.

Rachel's TWAI and DG are already on YouTube... Jesus Christ, how is that she keeps getting better and better?! Admittedly I always found her TWAI to be her weakest but that recording is probably the best I've ever heard her sing it.
Agh that woman... Absolutely incredible. It's weird, Wicked truly feels like Wicked again since Rachel is back. I haven't seen the show since 2014 and I wasn't there tonight but listening to those audio me from this evening makes me feel like how I felt when I first saw the show in 2010.
Great to hear such good things about the rest of the cast as well - I can't wait to see Suzy!

Tonight feels like a real event at Wicked! I'm so glad I am going... oh and anyone going, grey jeans and a deep red shirt with white spots, I you see me feel free to say hey! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Rachel returning feels like more of an event than Kerry returning did even though Kerry got loads of publicity. I have a feeling Rachel will deliver on that hype which Kerry, for me personally, did not.

I first saw it from the back of the circle as I was student at the time and the tickets were cheap. I've actually been back to see it quite a few times from up there... if you don't want to spend much, I'd recommend.

I do like Emma's voice but I've just heard her TWAI from last night and I really don't enjoy how she slides all of the place with her vocals and drags things out so she sounds out of time with the orchestra.

No, Carina only played Glinda Matinee . Savannah was on lastnight, recovering from Laryngitis My day at work tomorrow will be spent counting down the hours till 7.30 ..... I can't wait to hear about it, I won't be getting down to London until probably November! Suzie Mathers tweeted the other day about how incredible Rachel's voice is, can't wait to hear her sing that score again in person.

Well i am very excited about Rachel returning . Also that we get a new Glinda. Will bring some excitement back into Wicked I'm really looking forward to seeing Suzie Mathers (plus she's the cutest Glinda we ever had), but after seeing Rachel on Broadway this March, I'm not overly keen to see her returning to London. Unless I can manage to make some of the standby dates, I'm extending my Wicked London hiatus until February next year. That's fair. Let's be honest, February isn't that far away with how quickly this year is going! The X Factor will be starting at the end of August and that's pretty much the count down to Christmas!! Personally I'm so excited to see Rachel back. I just love her voice and her portrayal of Elphaba... There is something about her that just is Elphaba to me.

I'm aware that I'm going to sound incredible naive but I didn't even know this was an issue. I'm going to sound like a complete tosser here, but I didn't either until I saw Cyprus Avenue at the Royal Court. We really don't pay enough attention to our nearest neighbours sometimes. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Evidently we don't! Oh well, you learn something new every day, eh? I think my NZ/Australian confusion can be forgiven however - I have never visited either place nor do I live anywhere near!!

I did once annoy a couple from New Zealand by mistaking their accent for Australian lol.

I'm aware that I'm going to sound incredible naive but I didn't even know this was an issue. It's like annoying a Welsh person by saying Swansea and Cardiff sound the same too! I honestly don't think I could tell the difference... However, I don't have many Northern Irish/Irish or Welsh people in my life so they're not accents I'm overly familiar with. Obviously I know an accent when I hear one but I wouldn't be able to differentiate accents by region.

I'm so so excited to see Rachel again. I adore the hint of Irish that comes out in her singing voice, mainly I'm Not That Girl. It's wonderful. Erm...you mean Northern Irish. There's a difference, don't make the mistake of assuming everyone who comes from NI doesn't mind being called Irish. I don't care, I use Irish or British interchangeably depending on my mood (and sometimes depending on which passport I happen to have to hand!) but not everyone is so inclined. I'm aware that I'm going to sound incredible naive but I didn't even know this was an issue.
