I tried this but after about fifteen minutes it seemed so naff and forced. Certainly not naturalistic. Maybe I should give it another go.

Loved this tonight in Manchester! What a performance with astonishing bursts of energy throughout!
As for the audience, I’m not sure if some thought they were watching the telly. Drifting in and out of the auditorium. Such disrespect. One or two people desperate for the toilet… okay… but there was a constant stream of people in and out. Why?!

Saw last night and thought was excellent, particularly the second half. Dreadful audience behaviour, I thought. Bottles clanking, inappropriate laughter. And who guzzles their way through a bottle of red at a serious play?
And some seemed to find it a comedy. Laughter at inappropriate places, repeated laughter at the c-word, applause after the song… maybe it’s just me but I felt watching in silence more fitting.

Well this seems unfair. I can now get two key worker seats due to working in the NHS but I’ve already paid full whack. I wonder if they’d refund me??

My immediate reaction to that is 1. Why would he be talking about Cinderella in a tennis commentory, even if his daughter was in it. 2. Who cares what Andrew thinks about ANYthing other that tennis, and he was never any cop at that either! Didn’t see it but ALW was in the crowd on Centre Court so that would have prompted it.

Zoe Ball gushes so much over every single guest and every film, book or whatever is being plugged that it’s all meaningless. I don’t expect her to slag the person off to their face but everything is
OH MY GOODNESS SHIVERS DOWN MY SPINE I WAS SO GRIPPED WONNNDERFUL TEARS STREAMING DOWN MY FACE
Literally everything. Everything is 11/10 all the damn time! It drives me insane.

Why are there so many in London?! There’s never anybody in them. Now some have found to be selling fake goods with incorrect allergen labels.
Not to mention they look awful!

Just back from this. Excellent! Cover on for Bonnie but you’d never have known.
Very Hope Mill and I can so see this there!
But programmes £10?! I had to double check with the person behind me that they’d also paid that!
Having said that, I did buy a tote bag after for £16 - but it does have more depth to it than most tote bags!

That was so clearly what he meant from the outset. The rest is just attention seeking on the part of those with too much access to social media. Absolutely. I’m certain most people were delighted to have heard that sound bite. A hook to fit their narrative! Someone on Twitter has freeze framed the faces of the cast which “say everything”. Deary me. You can take select screen grabs from ANY piece of footage to reflect what you want to portray. What do they expect? Should the cast be grinning from ear to ear as if the wind has changed?

I queued up with my programme yesterday as I hadn’t managed to get it signed when I went in April. The highlight was actually meeting some fellow stage doorers and we had a blast even before anyone came out.
Interestingly everybody around me and beyond stopped Rodney for autographs and pictures and showered him with praise. How at odds with the consensus on here!
I didn’t speak to him but perhaps I should have got my programme signed. If he’s not in anything ever again it’d be a rare collectors’ item lol!
Completely hate that he’s making out the costly mistake comment to be about the cast/show itself. That was never the intention surely and only the stoniest of hearts would put that very sentiment into a letter to be read out in that way. Appalling choice of words, yes, but many on here and social media WANT us to align with the pantomime villain narrative.
I don’t know enough about it all - not many will - and it’s alarming how many are willing to be judge, jury and executioner without knowing EVERYTHING.
For this reason, I’m neutral and not taking sides, but I do feel sad for all concerned.

I didn’t notice any of the cast act badly in that video- just look mainly mortified/over it See I think an outsider wouldn’t even think this. We only see them as looking mortified because we know what’s gone on. It’s hard to know how much we’re looking for what we expect to see, rather than what we actually see.

Isn’t ALW referring to the timing around covid as a costly mistake, not the production itself? I just can’t believe he’s being deliberately disrespectful. It’s poor wording, surely?
With all the reports of other players being problematic, I find it hard to take sides here. So instead I’ll continue to listen to the cast recording, which I’m rather enjoying.

I was blown away by this last night. It was great to see a good old fashioned musical with brilliant singing, amazing dancing and fabulous costumes. The act one finale and Blow Gabriel Blow were incredible. I loved Kerry as Reno, and afterwards I did something I've never done before and waited at stage door to tell her how much I enjoyed it. She was lovely! Did I lend you my pen, by any chance?

I keep checking the site to see if any tickets go back up for sale. Sometimes one of the perfs goes from sold out to 'low' availability, but when you click through there's nothing left. Any idea why? I found this a lot a few weeks back. One day I refreshed the seating plan page for the day I wanted literally every few mins for several hours and I eventually struck gold. You’ve either got to be lucky when you check or doggedly persistent but it’s definitely doable.

Well, that’s lost none of its charm for the tour. Kerry Ellis does a fantastic job as do the other new leads. Denis Lawson and Simon Callow put their own spin on it but I thought they were great. Bonnie is, well… Bonnie. Lily is still the weak link. There’s A Little Bit Of Gypsy In Me was even more funny than I recall at the Barbican. Unquestionably a five star tour. No mid show ovations (we don’t do that sort of thing in Manc) but the audience loved it. I was there too! Front row! It’s all nonsense of course but brilliantly done and the big numbers are sensational!

I kind of want to see this but I’m just not that enthusiastic about it for some reason. How come the reviews are so sniffy about it?
I like a musical that moves me as well as one that has good songs. Should I go for it?

I’ve been watching the seating plan for my performance of Cock like a hawk as if it sells out, *then* ATG will resell two of my tickets (my parents can no longer attend due to ill health). To my dismay a whole raft are now on sale for that date so it’s unlikely my performance will fully sell out. What options do I have? Ill have to sell them on a third party website? I just don’t want to waste £170. It’s a pity ATG won’t take them back as if they listed them for the price I paid they’d be snapped up straightaway, given the mark up of seats since they went on sale. You’re welcome to try selling them in our Noticeboard. Create a thread here and once approved it will be published. theatreboard.co.uk/board/28/submit-noticesMight be a hard sell if there are plenty of seats still available though! Thanks, Burly and inthenose. I don’t understand why a load of tickets is suddenly available for the date (maybe Taron’s guests?!) but it is what it is!

They better offer refunds or this show is a complete and utter scam. Selling an entire run on his name and not being able to deliver on it is the problem of the producers not audiences. Audiences should not have to pay for their inability to deliver. They won’t even refund two of my four tickets after my mum having multiple fractures means she and my dad won’t be able to get to London so I doubt they’ll refund for this!

Yes, but is that the final artwork? If so, it's not very exciting, is it? It says Jonathan Bailey so it’s as exciting as it needs to be

Why is wearing a mask in a shop or on public transport a restriction? It’s a courtesy to others at this time until things have settled. Calling it a restriction just gets people’s backs up from the off.

The papers making this widespread knowledge is causing further damage. We need public compliance. BJ is to blame but reporting it in this way makes the situation worse. I know this is what the press is for and it’s their job but this shouting from the rooftops ‘one rule for them, another for us’ is not helpful to anybody. No, I can't agree with that at all. If this was a pop star or something then I might just say - it was a year ago let's not worry about it now - but the government who actually laid the rules down, mostly late and reluctantly, acting like that while people weren't able to see their dying loved ones all for the sake of a few Christmas drinks, it's outrageous. It tells us a lot about their judgement and character and therefore whether they are worth our vote. To be clear, I’m not advocating not reporting these things. These people need to be held to account. My point is that by reporting these things people are provoked not to do the right thing. It’s a Catch 22. You can’t have both honest and open and explicit reporting of bad behaviour AND the public complying. That doesn’t mean it should go unreported but it’s genuinely not helpful to the overall cause. I have no answers. But people read these headlines and then think sod the rules. Reporting it is right but it doesn’t help the covid situation!

My point isn’t that it shouldn’t be reported but shouting about it in this uneducated style just goads people into doing the wrong thing. We should be pointing out BJ’s idiocy AND promoting readers not to be like him. Instead we say ‘one rule for them and another for us’ and people take that sentiment and just do what the hell they like.
