I sat on one of those Dorfman ones and it was fine....but I quite like the front seats at Olivier and Lyttleton and I know people sometimes find them uncomfortable!I have booked one for last production at Bridge as only cheaper but close option! ☺

Our sat Nav has the funniest and most confusing speech. For example she pronounces Warwick Road as War as in nasty and wick as in candle; Southwark becomes south walk and Blackfriars is blackfreers and so on. But all in a very posh voice as if she was born into the British aristocracy. It is Garmin. My husband is just a big kid really...he downloaded a Yoda voice for our Tom Tom and made a small picture of his Morris Minor Pickup that could also somehow be uploaded...so we travel along with a Morris Minor going along on the screen and Yoda saying "left you must turn" etc etc! I have to admit it is quite fun.......and quite logical as Yoda always gives you the direction first! The son-in-law thought it was hilarious when we drove home after a wedding and it has passed into family folklore (not least because I put in the wrong postcode and it just took us to a random field in the middle of nowhere and announced "Your destination you have reached") Luckily all young people have phones and you just say to google "navigate to...." And it turns into a sat nav that is far better than a TomTom and costs nothing! Good old Google......

I managed to get myself the last two front cheap tickets for the date I wanted. I had wanted to book more but discovered on trying to book more tickets on a different date later in the run that I was only allowed two cheap tickets for this production (is this a National Theatre general rule? I've not tried to book more than two before for a single production so don't know). Two seats not next to each other, but at least my friend and I are seeing it. Plus we don't need to talk to each other during the actual show anyway, so have no need to sit next to each other. Yes, only allowed 2 of the £15 seats for each production run (including if they extend the booking dates!)

In previous lives I have been Maths teacher, Market Research Analyst and Product Manager for Mattessons Slices meats (Mmmmm Mattessons!) Since then I have been lucky enough to work as little as possible in perfect jobs. Currently 2 days a week working at Library Headquaters for a Local Authority. I check new book records and find old books from the stack to send out (we still have books from 1800s that we let anyone borrow!) Whisper it quietly but I think I might even do my job if they didn't pay me!

😸 Do you still use Cambridge Latin Course? Loved it Metella Quintus Grumio The dog!!! The slaves and beautiful dancing girls I should have been a Roman in those days In another life Caecilius est in via. :-) Loved that course. Graduated to Catullus at GCSE (but only the clean stuff!). Keep promising myself I'll go back to learning Latin some day, but I'm not sure anything modern will match the humour in that course. I'm a digital content editor/strategist; doing all the obvious comms stuff that entails, as well as driving digital change within organisations. My children both did Latin at their local comprehensive school (yes, really!) and they still used this course along with Kennedy's Latin Primer for all amo, amas, amat stuff! The first book is by far the best (ends with Pompeii) and it does get a bit dull later on when they decamp to England! For the record both also did Latin A levels at local comprehensive, they ran the course even though there were only a very few in the class and the teacher gave up his free periods and taught some lessons after school. Daughter still loves Ovid and insists she can't live anywhere without her Latin books (she's now 27!)

Well this was fun! I don't think it is really pretentious.....complicated, yes, pretentious no. I like how he just weaves stuff together and leaves you with a train journey home googling stuff! And hey, if people don't want to go and see it, or feel stupid if they don't understand it that's up to them...when I don't understand or know something I don't feel stupid, I go away and read up a bit on things! I am tremendously ignorant about lots of things but this is beacuse I have not been taught about them and not because I am stupid and a difficult play does not make me question my intellect! There we go....rant over! I found this a delight and thought everyone in it was great. Sometimes a production has a certain sort of joy in it, where you feel that the actors are having the best of times, and this was one of those! Great set and lighting and music and bingo, a great afternoon out. Good job I am short, though....F23 in the circle has NO legroom! I cannot believe they would sell these seats for the price advertised! Luckily TodayTix Rush seat for £20 was a bargain...especially as I had £20 credit from using a code and then someone using mine!

Yes, I thought this about Friday Forty not working last week danielwhit and then person mysteriously being offered one of the usual tickets! But was not impressed they had to pay £90 as usually they are £40 for both parts! I did tweet to ask what happened when Friday Forty didn't work and ask if they had any tickets but they failed to reply!

So....here's a few things I gleaned! The ticket return policy is great...return tickets up to 48 hrs before for either exchange or credit at £2 a ticket (so similar to National) Lots of Sunday performances ....3pm 250 promenade tickets for each show for Caesar at £25 a throw

Haha...yes, my egg took a ridiculous amount of bashing to break it! I got a standard "we are sorry you are disappointed" reply about my below standard Munchies (why would you put in the egg a below par version of the sweet that someone had actually bought the egg for?) but they are sending me a token to redeem for some proper ones. So no-one will actually take any notice of my rant and change anything but hey ho it's the way of the world! And I will get Munchies!

First rows of Lyttleton aren't raked but those in Olivier are! I love these seats as I am quite short and I actually find them quite comfortable! For some reason I find the seats at Hampstead theatre uncomfortable...just the way my back protests!

I love this thread. I have had a lovely day being lazy. I had a munchies Easter egg but the small pack of "munchies" inside the egg were battered and small and frankly pathetic, so I ate them and then cheered myself up by writing a complaint to Nestle. I have told them to send me more real Munchies. If they think they can get away with this travesty then frankly they are deluded. Also read Tell the Wolves I'm Home....may have been crying a little at the end..... Now for Line of Duty. As you can see my life is very shallow but I sort of Iike it!

I recently got an America Express card (for National booking) and have been impressed by their system...if they think a purchase is strange they send you a text with a code number that you have to enter on line! Works a treat! Very impressed so far....

The Friday Forty didn't work today....technical glitch I think as the little wizard did not walk atall! It's usually quite disappointing when I don't win but this was an added level of disappointment!

I had my car washed today. Usually I just sponge off the mud but I thought I'd get it done properly, not least of all because on Sunday the windscreen was hit by an insect the size of a small moose that smeared a wide trail three quarters of the way up the window. I'd forgotten how clean my car could look. It's green! It's actually green! I have owned my present car for 10 years and not yet washed it. It has been washed ocassionally (the nice garage that do my cheap yearly service include a wash once a year!) but now it has become a point of principle.....

I included a Lindt chocolate bunny in my grocery shop delivered last Saturday. It was gone by Sunday evening. Oops! In my opinion all chocolate carries an implied "serves one" and "best before tomorrow", regardless of what the incorrectly printed packaging might say. You made me chuckle! My husband has the restraint of a saint and spins his chocolate egg out for days "I can't eat much as it's so rich and filling" ....looking at me like I am some lunatic as I snarf mine in one sitting! I have long thought that it is a good job he funds my theatre habit to make up for this unfortunate character defect!
