Also price creep...and the ones I have sometimes booked for, they have had the cheek to send me money off offers...after I have booked! I know thst's the way the cookie crumbles but I hate it when loyal bookers are penalised for booking early! And they sold my returned ticket for Girls and Boys but I have to have credit to be used within a year (I pointed out I have to travel from afar, and they just refused to budge, places like YV let you have unlimited time to use!)....come on RC, up your game! I do love those seats, though.....

See you on Saturday Junie! Don’t worry I’m not a stalker. I’m in row D stalls. I’ll look about..... What!!! I thought you would be front row now Lynette, after they finished the Front Row Scheme that used to annoy so much! I am more than a little disappointed as, if I could not be sitting there, I liked to think of you being restored to your rightful place!

Oh. I was thinking of booking for this, and now you've put me off, which is fair enough. I'm perfectly happy with mood music and no pat answers, but I am absolutely not the sort that searches the internet for evidence that ghosts exist because they don't. Will I like it? I expect a guaranteed response. Yes, you will like it. I don't believe in ghosts either and I loved it. Just a hint of Pinter here and there, lots of very grounded dialogue and about as mystical as Jerusalem. I'd say the level of mystery is about the same as when you end a conversation with your elderly relatives...did they really say that? Did that actually happen in their past or did I hear it wrongly? This can of course, equally well apply to teenagers of today, where they delight in baffling you by using words that mean the opposite of what they are....."it's bad"!!!

I’ve dumped the tix. What with trying to recover from this blimin cold and the length of this play I decided to change my Saturday night into a takeaway movie night at home. Now, what to watch...? Hope you feel better soon Lynette, I loved this play....a good companion piece to The Birthday Party for me as it felt a bit Pinteresque at times and I liked the theme of "being watched" that was explored throughout....but long evenings out in winter are not much to my liking and your takeaway movie night sounds lovely! Perhaps Amelie or Little Miss Sunshine (one of my favourites!) I also muchly like Le Gout Des Autres or Chocolat!

{Spoiler - click to view} I think this play was all about control. On the face of it Zack has the control...he is "looking after" Poot's character and physically does not allow her the phone at the end....but actually it is Poot's charatcter who has the control...she often puts down Zack with hurtful comments, originally proposed to him and he has spent his whole recent life trying to live up to her ideal and be her perfect man. At the end she says she is frustrated as he has never lived for himself but always to try and please her....and interestingly at the end she says she wants to look after him....while he finds himself. I think it is fascinating...the ways we control others in relationships.
I liked the play a lot....even as I could see how disfunctional both characters were. I liked the French couple at the end as a contrast, showing how a better couple might function. And Imogen Poots in lovely to watch...enchanting!

Onstage seating now on sale. People who are (understandably) unhappy about the trials of buying a single seat at some theatres should take some ironic pleasure from the fact that the front row of stage seating is a row of three seats, so you can’t buy for a couple, only one or three... Thanks to whoever booked a single seat for Wed 4th April matinee so that I could book the two left over!

{Spoiler - click to view} The phone boyfriend has got off girlfriend beeps, indicating text message and he looks at it, puts it on the table and the B & B lady looks at it and says "who's John" I agree that this ending was very disappointing and far too neat......I would have liked something more ambiguous, so we could make our own minds up!

I thought this was excellent and the 3 hours plus flew by! How often do you see a play where 3/4 of the cast are women, two of whom are over 75. Pleased to report the front row rush seats are great, wouldn’t describe them as restricted. There are odd bits of the set you can’t see but suspect that will be the case wherever you sit. Definitely go for these rather than side on view. Managed to miss you!I was in A4! I agree front row fine and really enjoyed this. May have to think about it for a while!are they deliberately trying to annoy people in side seats with staging? One scene far left (when they could have used more central table) and one far right, where a character moves an armchair even further to the right! It's almost like they don't check sight lines!

I am fonder of this one the more I look back on it! At the time I wasn't sure what I thought of it....certainly it hadn't grabbed me by the interval but I thought the second half (and the bunker in particular) was much stronger...plus you sort of knew what to expect, format wise, by then, and it did create its own "atmosphere" and feel by the end. And it was a treat seeing Marquez in his various roles! Much like the stories, it had something about it, but exactly what it was is a mystery!

At the matinee on Saturday and I have to agree with floorshow, good production and very well cast. Jennifer Saunder's is a hoot and we get a song from her during the set change in the second half....and she knows how to milk every laugh from it! I have booked for last 2 productions on the strength of this and A Woman of No Importance and would like to point out that prices are more reasonable for the first week or so after first performance as £10 off prices then! Oh and the dresses are to die for...I'd like the black number that Samatha Spiro gets to wear!!!

Breaking news, Parsley the Prince of Misery goes to a play and slags everyone off!! Cant he find another hobby so he doesnt clog up this forum? This is totally unfair and uncalled for. This year I have been to 2 plays recommended as excellent by Parsley and thoroughly enjoyed them both. He has very high standards but that's fine by me. I don't like it when forum members attack a person...by all means disagree with thier opinions on a play (although we are all entitled to our view of something), or even how they approach that criticism but don't attack the person themselves.

Saw this today at the 1pm matinee...fabulous! Made me cry at one point and I thought Rhys Ifans was spectacular in the part...you really couldn't take your eyes off him. Loved the mince pies, loved the lighting, loved the music, loved the updating of the tale....it got a standing ovation from me! I was in seat U31...behind a pillar, stalls for £21 and was a bargain...you are slightly higher up than the closer stalls seats and splendid leg room! Recommended! Merry Christmas!

I think it was the correct decision and she deserves credit for listening to the arguments and changing her mind! It was a woman playwright for heavens sake and it provided a strong voice for women on how they see/react to abusive relationships of all kinds! I saw it at Oxford and thought it added greatly to the debate about women's place in society and the power they do/do not have in life. Well done VF! It is not weak to change your mind when you have judged the arguments and listened...the world would be a better place if changing your mind was not always considered weak!

I enjoyed this at Hampstead too...and it brought a tear to my eye at the end! Won't go as far as seeing it again but with such good actors it was rather a treat!

Disappointed they aren't doing the usual £10 seats at the back of stalls/circle.....will give this a miss at these prices! Come on James, reward your loyal fans!

I rather enjoyed it!However egg mayonnaise sandwich was frankly pathetic. Plus if you had rearranged the small bite sized pieces it would only have made 3/4 of a round. Poor bread, no garnish £6. Coffee, filter only, small cups from an urn. Cakes looked splendid but didn't try. Need to improve this catering!

Get rid of urinals, call them all "Toilets" and job done! We make it so complicated these days! We would soon get used to the change!

Well I rather enjoyed it, like Ryan! It was completely mad and the ending didn't really do the job but I liked the central idea and it was great fun seeing the journey! I thought it was good value for my nice cheap £15 front stalls ticket. Loved the Heff and Julian Bleach as the dragon and had fun afterwards discussing how I would have changed the ending! [Corbyn may have vanquished May in my version}

I thought one of the best things about the play was that, although the peace process didn't in the end succeed, the message was definitely "we just have to keep trying and MAKE CONNECTIONS" and that somewhere down the line we would be lucky with people thrown together. It also made me think about the Northern Irish peace process and Mo Mowlan and how she used her personality to help negotiations. Very clever play as the end was desperately sad but somehow uplifting at the same time.

It's not often I giggle at the theatre but this was so funny.....Tamsin Grieg really does have the best timing and Martin Freeman is the perfect straight guy....so comedy gold, an interesting look at labour across the years, all wrapped up in a good old fashioned story. I was on my feet at the end with a delighted smile. And for £10 the back row of the circle seats were the bargain of the year! Recommended! Mr Graham knows how to take a subject (any subject) and wrap it up in a real story to make it entertaining and interesting....keep writing and I'll keep buying tickets!

I may be wrong but I thought the 'member of the public' in Privacy was a plant? Yes, I thought this too! I am pretty sure it was a plant!

I was there too. Runs 3 hours now, for those wanting to know. Will comment on the rest after press night. So was I, with Angram! Theatreboard outing!!!! I liked this...reminded me of James Graham play, took what could be a very dry subject and told the story in a clear way, lots of humour, makes you think a bit at the end....excellent!
