Ariana sounds fantastic!
Another leak on Twitter revealed the end of No One Mourns The Wicked, and Ariana does the famous Chenoweth/Hilty/Mauzey opt-up.

Not even on sale for Manchester yet. Last stop on the tour Christmas 2024, doesn’t seem very appealing. Everyone will be knackered, not to mention how many Elphabi they’ll have been through. I am hoping to attend for the closing week myself, it will be my first time seeing a show in Manchester. Hopefully the audiences will be a little more tame than at The Bodyguard!

When they announced Ariana as Glinda I was thrilled. She is such a fan of the show, has a heavenly voice and has previously been on Broadway.
These leaks only just confirm that they made a good casting choice. Her vocals for No One Mourns The Wicked are ethereal, and she looks absolutely stunning as Glinda.
Normally I am a staunch Elphaba fan, but for this movie, I'm a Glinda fan all the way!

I believe Alexia lost someone close to her recently. Her saying "this is for you, goodbye" is likely referencing that her performance today is dedicated to that person.

This week at Wicked London we've had Amy Webb, Kate Leiper, Nicola Espallardo, Laura Pick and now Rebecca Gilliland all play the role of Elphaba!
I believe five different Elphabas in a single week is a record breaker?

Yes, in the last contract Helen Woolf was out quite frequently, as was her standby Lisa-Anne Wood.
However, both had just returned from maternity leave, so there is a good chance that many absences for both ladies were related to this.

Nicola Espallardo has taken over as Elphaba from Kate Leiper mid-show tonight (12th April, 2023).

Amy Webb was incredibly consistent on tour, and was always at the ready to cover when Nikki Bentley was absent.
I'm not sure what has happened since, but she has become a very unreliable standby. The show is lucky that both Kate and Nicola are able to share the responsibility of covering her frequent absences!

They should really break the mould and name an alternate Elphaba for the tour.
With the cast travelling for over a year and multiple 9 show weeks, it would really be in their best interest not to push Laura to the point of exhaustion!

It really is amazing how your theatre experience can be completely ruined by the simple flip of a coin of who will be seated near you.
To add some much needed levity, I once had a wonderful experience in Liverpool where I attended a performance of Wicked alone at the Empire Theatre. I started talking pre-show to the two ladies sat next to me and we had a wonderful conversation about our love for theatre.
At the interval, they came back from the concessions area and had bought me an ice-cream, for no reason other than pure kindness. It's those wonderful experiences that make me hold out hope for my future audience experiences at the theatre!

Amy seems to really struggle performing more than 2-3 shows in a row before calling out. I hope she is alright, because this has been an ongoing trend for quite some time now The lead Elphabas would never be expected to do 4 shows in 2 days, why should the standby? My comment was regarding her consistent absence over the course of her contract, not this specific week.

Not sure about today, but it was Alexia last night (school hols schedule). That's odd. WestEndUnderstudies reported that Amy was on for both shows yesterday, and people at the evening performance confirmed it was in fact Amy (who had a no-fly performance).
