Never heard of Hoorah Tickets... it's a good deal if they're legit.
They're going to have to do some serious discounting over the next week, there are an embarrassing number of unsold seats at the moment 😳

Newcastle 4th to 8th October 2022.
Can't find a website for the tour. Google just thinks I want to go on an actual Indian tour... 🤣

As a single 40-year-old that is incredibly depressing!! 🤣🤣🤣

It is essentially a jukebox musical FrontroverPaul but it's got a proper plot and a real story (as opposed to what they cobbled together around the music of We Will Rock You and Mamma Mia - although the latter works a bit better). It's a story about life and death and risking it all for love, but when you don't remotely believe either of the leads would put their life on the line for the other (as is the entire point of the film - the greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return etc) then it just...doesn't work. I spent the whole show going 'Victoria Hamilton Barritt and Oliver Tompsett would have made this the show of the year' YES. All of that. Assuming the plot is the same as the film, she dies in his arms after declaring their love (not a spoiler it was 20 years ago), if they have no chemistry then it's meaningless.

Good news, I know Wildhorn gets a lot of stick but this is a guilty pleasure of mine. It's been at least a decade since I saw it (with Marti's dry-humping) so I'd love to see it brought up to date and done well.

If the leads have no chemistry then I have zero interest in seeing this until the cast changes. I don't care how good the set is, if it's the best thing about the show then in my mind they've failed.

Very positive news... it's been on my list for years so I'll definitely be making the trip!

Despite the drama, I'm looking to book for the £39.50 deal - for the very knowledgeable amongst you, would you recommend side stalls row O, central stalls row T, or central circle row C?

They've got to do something, there's a lot of empty seats! I can justify £28 if need be but I always prefer a bargain 🤣

This is now on TodayTix (and currently works out £1 cheaper than booking direct with Cadogan Hall, thanks to a slightly cheaper booking fee). Cheapest ticket is £28, I'm still holding out hoping for deals 😁

I was Team Chigs but they were all worthy winners this year. Slightly underwhelming challenges for a final though!

I think Couple's Choice should only be allowed if you make it to the semi-final. In a normal week, it's a free pass to basically mess about while another contestant is learning proper technical steps, it's unfair.

I need to give this a second watch, I was underwhelmed last night. Andrew Garfield was great but otherwise it didn't hold my attention and the songs didn't grab me either. I remember enjoying it live in London, maybe the film will click on second viewing.

The film cuts at least two songs from the second half, 'To Break In A Glove' (Connor's dad) and 'Good For You' (Evan's mum).

Loads of leg room -- people can walk past -- and stage low. See my 5 November posting for other comments on the view. Awesome, thank you 😀

That was spectacularly funny insightful loved every minute of it. Today tix lottery ticket picked up at midday, front row for twenty pounds. Loved loved loved it. Congratulations to all involved. How's the stage height and legroom in the front row?

The power of DG is that change in lighting and her sudden vertical ascension, this new staging feels much less of a 'wow' moment. Very hard to tell from this video, I know, but it looks like she barely leaves the ground, until she awkwardly flies off at the end. Maybe it's better in person.
I do agree on the broom though, that's where the traditional staging doesn't work either - it's the broom that can fly, not Elphaba, so her flinging it around in her arms doesn't make sense as she'd be hanging off it! 🤣

Footage has appeared on that well-known video site of the new DG staging in Hamburg. I have to say I'm not impressed at all, it removes all of the power of that moment and just looks daft. London staging can remain as it is, thank you very much 😁 💚

Three stars from me… cleverly staged and brilliantly performed but can’t overcome an extremely thin story and trite dialogue. The plot is described rather than acted (‘they’re suing you for the name of The Drifters, Faye!’, ‘you’re leaving me to go to England, Momma?’) and songs completely crowbarred in to the story even for a jukebox musical Beverley was superb but really only gets two big solo numbers (I could be wrong)? It will have a long life touring Agreed on all of that. And yeah I know the focus should be on The Drifters, but when you've got Beverley Knight, you use her!! From memory she had two average solos in Act 1 before the belting Stand By Me, and then another better in Act 2 (Harlem Child?) which brought the house down. But she still could've been given more. I also thought Adam J Bernard's 'There Goes My Baby' was SUBLIME.
