Great news, I was to see it on the day all theatres closed their doors in 2000. Why did they close for the Millennium? There was a bug going around. 😉

After Jamie, two weeks of Six, Bat and Cher, normal service resumes at Sheffield's Lyceum this week.
Although they're both 'above the title', I'm not sure why Michelle Collins' name is twice the size of Daniel Casey's. Surely his name is the one that is more recognisable to whodunnit fans?

Happy birthday, our david . I assume you'll be hitting one of London's fleshpots later, to celebrate through the medium of dance.

Despite my debit card expiring since booking, my refund was credited to my account yesterday. That was direct from the Old Vic, though, rather than TodayTix or the like.

There is going to be a celebration of Barry Cryer's life at the Lyric Theatre on 13 June.

The secret, I would suggest, is to not spend more on new clothing and equipment than is raised in donations!

BBC Young Dancer is required viewing for anyone who, like our david, is passionate about dance. Dancers aren't like the rest of us...they're superhuman! The future of dance in this country is very secure indeed. Available on iPlayer for the next year or so.

I wasn't keen on her using her natural accent as the Dr as she seemed to sound like Jane Horrocks That's the problem with us northerners...we all sound the same! One has a very broad Lancastrian accent, and the other comes from near Huddersfield.

It would seem that a new company rises from the ashes every time the previous one is dissolved by Companies House.
Dress Circle Ltd was reinvented as Show Tunes Ltd, which has now been reinvented as Showtunes Ltd, all with Leon Anthony Allan as director.

Indeed, BurlyBeaR. I bet you never thought you'd have something in common? When he sees the crooked spire for the first time, it will blow his mind!

Ahead of opening night in Chesterfield, Patrick Duffy was interviewed on Radio Sheffield this morning. Bless him, he thought he'd spent last week in Richmond. It was almost like he'd just stepped out of the shower and Birmingham never happened!

I'll tell you what, those Paul Mathew drivers know their stuff. Because of you-know-what taking place you-know-where, the driver of the last truck to arrive had just a five minute window to drive in, reverse up to the scenery dock, uncouple and drive off.
There was a couple sitting in their deckchairs, beers at the ready, waiting for coverage to start on the big screen. They weren't moving for owt!

I must get 10 emails a week with offers for venues in Greater Manchester. £10 off Strictly Come Dancing at The Lowry, 25% off Beryl at Oldham Coliseum, just £7 for the BBC Philharmonic at Bridgewater Hall and £22 for Singin' in the Rain. If I lived on the wrong side of the Pennines I'd be out every night!
Even Alan Partridge is struggling. With tickets now discounted to £15, it would seem that Steve Coogan isn't as popular in MCR as he once was.

Most of us would be content with either an onstage conga OR having Alex Young draped across us. You're just greedy, our david. 🙂 Does anyone have a contact at Southwark? We need footage!

They're selling so much merchandise in Sheffield, they've just had a Friday afternoon re-stock.
Not one, not two, but three pallets. All made in China, of course, for pence.
I had to pause my game of outdoor snooker to have a nosy!

Following a lead I got yesterday in the accounts of LW Theatres, I've been looking into a relatively new company called Phantom Productions London Ltd, which was incorporated on 22 February 2021.
There are 20 shares in total, comprising 11 'A' shares and 9 'B' shares, which is a 55/45 split. Contrary to what I think we previously thought, the 9 are held by Cameron Mackintosh Ltd, with the majority, 11, held by Really Useful Theatre Company Ltd.
I fear I may have just opened a can of worms!

LEPs they are called, or London Escalator Panels. I'm almost certain the people doing the actual work aren't TfL employee, but contractors, just to make it even more complicated.
The answer is to become best friends with a LEP operative. An ad in the Exchange & Mart should do it. "Poster technician wanted for platonic relationship...and possibly more if we click!"

I had a spare five minutes, so I've just been reading the latest LW Theatres accounts. What a glamorous life I lead!
The very last item, on the very last page, is the sale price of The Other Palace. Andy sold it to Bill for £5.5 million.

There is a certain irony in someone filming a live performance complaining about theatre etiquette.
