Upon listening through a couple of times, I think my only issue is the balance. The band sounds absolutely incredible, but it overpowers the tap and occasionally the soloists too. I wish they had included the entr'acte and tap finale, but it's still a great album and I'm loving it. It's making me crave another trip to the show!

I thought it was incredible - a completely unexpected but totally brilliant change of style, and fantastic performances from the entire cast. I can see why some hardcore Star Wars fans aren't buying into it, but for me it's a complete triumph.

I think the sound quality is perfectly fine, although the tapping is slightly quiet in places. Annoyed that parts of the instrumental sections in the big numbers have been cut, but otherwise it sounds pretty glorious. Lullaby of Broadway and 42nd Street in particular are just wonderful.

I’m very tempted to try to see this tour again - I think Jeremy Secomb is brilliant, and everyone seems to say that Madalena is a stunning Eva. Her tracks on the new double album of Evita and Sunset certainly seem to back that up.

I saw the evening show today and mostly agree with mallardo - Greg Castaglioni and Carolyn Maitland were the stand-outs for me, I thought both of them were really excellent. Southerland has put together another fantastic show at the Charing Cross, using a simple but effective set once more to aid his superb direction. The score is one of ALWs weaker compositions I think, but there’s a lot in there that’s very good. Not much else to say really except that I had a great time.

If only shows that are eligible are those that have opened in a time frame how can Hamilton get a nomination when it's not open yet? The Best Cast Recording category wasn't subject to the same criteria, any show that had a cast recording was eligible. Similarly for the Best Poster category.

It did actually say in the 'fine print' for the Best Cast Recording and Best Poster categories that it would be the original album/artwork that WoS would consider for any show that was nominated. I don't think it's fair to expect everyone to read all the T&Cs for a fan-driven awards ceremony like this, so it's not surprising that there's some confusion over it. I also saw a lot of people on twitter saying they were going to nominate current cast members of long-running shows in the Best Performance categories, clearly not having read that only shows that opened in the last year were eligible in those categories, so maybe WoS should make the eligibility criteria more obvious for every award.

She is probably in that category as 42nd Street themselves think of her as the supporting actress. No name on any publicity, not last in the bows etc. But when they posted a graphic on Twitter advertising their eligibility for the WoS Awards, didn’t they include Clare in the lead category with Sheena and advertise Jasna as supporting?

Well I managed to get in, but on the days that I'm free the ticket allocations for shows I want to see just aren't good enough for me to book. I can get better deals via Day Seats/Lottery/Rush tickets. It's a good selection of shows this year, though, so people who can't rely on last-minute ticket deals should find plenty to be happy about.

Has anyone managed to get through yet on the Mastercard presale? Im getting a mixture of gateway errors, and getting stuck in an endless loop between the official London theatre website telling me to go to priceless.com, which then directs you back to the official London theatre website telling you to go to priceless.com! I'm in the same situation - I seem to remember a similar thing happening last year too

On The Road, with 7 new tracks, has just been released on Spotify and Amazon Music (and will apparently be on iTunes very soon!) and oh my it's wonderful. I've played the original version of the album to death, and these new tracks are absolutely incredible, including some audience favourites from the Live at Zedel shows and a wonderful duet with Rebecca Trehearn. I'm constantly astounded by how talented Rachel Tucker is.

Thanks for your input and insight into the show! When I saw Phantom the other month, Lara Martins sang the C rather than the E. As far as I can remember, the previous Carlotta that I've seen also opted for the C (can't remember who it was, but it was around the end of 2015/start of 2016 when JOJ made his brief return) - that's what made me think it was a permanent change. I actually find the RAH 25th anniversary recording disappointing for many reasons, one of which being the omission of this E. Would that have been the time of Wendy Ferguson as Carlotta A quick scroll back through my photos reveals that I did in fact take a picture of the cast board when I went - it was on the 11th of January 2016 and apparently I saw Megan Llewellyn as Carlotta. Edit: but if you're talking about the 25th anniversary at the ROH, that was indeed Wendy Ferguson

The atmosphere was fantastic - much more buzzing than when I saw the show in January. This was my first (and last) time seeing Amber - my god, she’s amazing. Her voice is incomparable, so versatile and powerful. Yes she doesn’t quite nail the acting but i thought she did a good job with the character. It was my first time seeing Liisi too, and I thought she was OK in Act One but really impressed me in Act Two, where she was much stronger. Miles better than Lily Frazer. Asmeret nails Lorrell, which wasn’t a surprise to me as I loved her as Nabulungi, and Adam J Barnard is still brilliant. The new CC doesn’t even come close to Tyrone, and I still don’t like the guy who plays Curtis - his acting’s not bad but his singing always feels slightly off and I can’t tell why. Might just be personal taste.
Anyway, I’m so so glad that I got to see Amber before she left, but I’m not sure I’ll be rushing to see the show for a third time. I would quite like to see Tosh as Jimmy, but that’s not enough to get me back there. Maybe if they get a new Curtis at the next cast change.
