We saw the second preview of Jeanine Tesori and David Lindsay-Abaire's new musical on Broadway. It's a superbly produced and heart warming musical which I can imagine doing well at next year's Tony's.
There are echoes of Fun Home in the melodies, the set design is great and Victoria Clark and Bonnie Milligan are brilliant. I've been listening to a couple of songs on YT since.
Highly recommended.

Saw it yesterday - Outstanding. Absolutely loved it. I feel like the bar has been set very high - Victoria Clark has to be the frontrunner for the Tony. Definitely gave me Fun Home vibes.

Hopefully the rave reviews across the board will help it have a healthy run and grow an audience ala Fun Home.

Slightly off-topic but fans of Ms Clark might like to know that Maury Yeston's DECEMBER SONGS is released today in which she sounds sublime.

Got to see this a few weeks ago and it is one of the best shows I have seen in recent years. Would love to see this come to London.

Saw this again today before I fly home tonight and stand by what I said before. If anything I loved it even more a second time now that I’m more familiar with the music. A very special show.
It’s going to be between this and Some Like it Hot for best musical.

This is really good and really funny. A talented cast all around. I hadn't read much about this and wasn't too sure what to expect. Definitely not one to take children to though, even if the advertising might make it look that way.
