The Coronet are bringing over the Berliner Ensemble Artistic Director Oliver Reese to direct in their Winter season. This is excellent and very enterprising of them. However, and massively disappointingly, it is to direct a play "Sarah" which is "a window into modern middle-America". What is it with this total obsession with America in London theatre ? Couldn't they find an interesting contemporary German play ?

Well, this was a rough evening. It's misery theatre/lit and without Slinger who is immense, I think it could be quite torrid. He keeps us with him though, even in the darkest moments of rock bottom. An American Nightmare, fueled by booze and self loathing.
