Amber all the way for me. I saw her 6 months into her run and it was one of the best vocal performances I've ever heard.

Her performance of it at the concert is the definitive version for me. That little flourish on "now I can see" is unbeatable.

I know it’s total hokum but that look Jennifer Hudson gives Davon on the first line “changing” is everything.

Lillias White is definitely my favourite, although Jennifer Holliday's original performance will always have a special place because it was so different from anything I'd heard before. Phenomenal.

I find I listen to Jennifer Holliday and Lillias White both equally. I honestly couldn’t pick between the two. But those are the two best. That 2001 concert was one of the greatest things to ever happen.
