Always seemed such a gentleman and loved what he did. A great life well lived.

My regular theatre buddy is a retired TV sound engineer and worked with loads of people. Lionel Blair is very high on her "lovely to work with" list.

Unforgettable as The Master of Ceremonies in PAGENT during its all too short run at The Vaudeville Theatre in 2000. Lionel had the audience in the palm of his hand filling the theatre with laughter with his wonderful personality.

I didn't know he'd been with the RSC - the 1944 season when he was 16 - he was in Hamlet (Player 3), As You Like It (Dennis), Macbeth (Macduff's son), The Taming of the Shrew (Gregory), and The Merchant of Venice (Leonardo).
