Brilliant comedian and by all accounts a very nice chap. Loved him on 8 Out of 10 Cats and the Countdown spin-off.
Taken at 58 by cancer.
Rest in Peace

YouTube keeps on throwing up compilations from 8 Out Of Ten Cats Does Countdown and I never tire of them. One of my favourite bits: The Tiger Who Came For A Pint.
(A language warning is probably required for other parts of the video.)

I was really upset yesterday when I heard about him passing away: I saw him do stand up three or four times over the years, the last time was probably the best part of ten years ago but I thought he was focussing on stuff like 8 Out Of Ten Cats in recent years, never that he might be suffering from any illness (although last time I saw him, he came out on stage with no hair and made jokes about having a new look and of course, it’s only now that I realise he must have been undergoing chemotherapy)
I can honestly say he was one of the best stand up comedians that I’ve seen and he really will be missed on both the live comedy circuit and on TV: rest in peace Sean.

When I heard about Sean Lock's untimely departure, it made me think of this moment from Catsdown:

When I heard about Sean Lock's untimely departure, it made me think of this moment from Catsdown: I think he pretty much nailed the general response that has occurred.

Saw him live developing new material in a small theatre in my town in the North. A great night out.
