With the roadmap looking to keep on track, and shows reopening with mandatory mask wearing in effect, I was wondering if anyone here could recommend companies/links to the most comfortable masks to wear over two hours plus whilst watching a show. The disposable masks are lightweight and don’t make my ears or nose bridge sore like many reusable masks, however I avoid using them as they’re less environmentally friendly.
Has anyone purchased a mask for work or other purposes that they find easy to keep on over long periods of time?

I've bought several masks from this place - they have serious filtration technology and they're comfortable to wear. Optional additional nose padding if you have glasses fogging problems. cambridgemask.com |

Do you wear glasses? If you do you need advice from another glasses wearer. I don't wear glasses so bear this in mind! I feel given this is a theatre website I should plug theatresupportfund.co.uk/products/the-show-must-go-on-facemaskI strongly suspect they won't work well for glasses wearers as when I wear them I can feel my breath going past my eye lashes. I wear glasses and bought one of the Show Must Go On masks. It was quite large so needed a little bit of adjustment to put some wire around the top and make the straps smaller. I've had lots of lovely comments about it though and a nice chat about musicals with the nurse while I had my smear test! |

I have ordered one predominantly for my theatre going in the hope that it’s nice a comfy over long periods of time, would you say it’s up to the job? I’m not a glasses wearer, and have a fairly large head (it’s a running joke that I always rip Christmas cracker paper hats). |

I wear glasses and my faves so far were the Christmas ones I bought from M&S, they had the right sort of stretch in the right places to stop me getting fogged up and to not be too uncomfortable for long wear.
I need to get some non Christmas ones now I’ll be back in the world more.

I’m keen to hear more about the show must go on mask! I have ordered one predominantly for my theatre going in the hope that it’s nice a comfy over long periods of time, would you say it’s up to the job? I’m not a glasses wearer, and have a fairly large head (it’s a running joke that I always rip Christmas cracker paper hats). I've also got a big head (I find I have to wear the adjustable ones on the widest setting) and find it fine. Like all things you just get used to it. I wear a mask for a 45 min commute and have to wear one when moving around our office but not when sat at our spaced out desks. I'm so used to it now that I'll often find I forgot to take it off when I sit back down, but that is temperature dependent. It does get good comments in the general world and when I was at theatres when it was allowed with masks during lockdown I saw plenty of other people in the audience wearing them. |
