Just so no one gets their hopes up too early: "Due to licensing issues, the Next to Normal musical screenings will be available only to TheaterWorks subscribers and single-ticket buyers. Details at twhartford.org.
It is not currently clear if it’s possible for non-subscribers to purchase tickets for the screenings, will post update when details are clarified."

In response to the above both Theatre Fan and myself have emailed the theatre to see clatication over this point.
I guess that once either of one hears back, we'll post it and let you all know.

If the reason it's never been produced here is because of a rights issue as I've always read (though it's always been unsourced info but I can't see any other reason why it wouldn't have been done by now) then I can't imagine we'll be able to watch it here unfortunately unless it being filmed changes things?

Yes rights have been sewn up over here as the owner wants a West End production and won't accept a smaller scale production with eyes on transferring. Shame really.

I always found the issue of the UK rights for this mysterious. Why acquire them if you can't afford to stage it the way you want to i.e. in the West End? Why allow so much time to pass since the Broadway production that the 'buzz' is lost? Why not do a smaller production, if that's what you can manage? Very odd.
