~2013. A TV series aired in the summer over a week, an episode a day documenting what goes on in the West End theatres, rehearsal rooms etc. Featured loads of different interviews and features on shows, etc. I remember them documenting Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in production; one particular part, the chocolate room in the warehouse under construction Sam Mendes goes to see it and doesnt like the detail of the set, gets them to revise it. There was also a feature on cast auditioning for shows, some for Charlie, some for Mama Mia. It followed a big lad who'd never done a professional show and ended up cast as a swing in Charlie.
Cant remeber what network it aired on (thought BBC) but cant find any info. BBC produced a similar series but in 2002, which was wat to early to be this seires.
Any one remember what it was called or network it went out on?

For some reason I thought it was channel 4. At the same time the bbc did a history of musicals with Staunton.
Did the show also feature a guy with a lot of confidence and fake tan auditioning for Thriller?

There was a guy called Dickie auditioning for Mama Mia who got the gig - I remember that becaude I'd worked with him a few months ealier.
