Saw thing on twitter encouraging us to read plays, presumably having purchased them online and giving advice as to how reading would be different from seeing... well, yes. But was wondering if anyone has an play they would recommend for a read, maybe something you have written yourself or were thinking of putting on or an old piece we never see.
Some plays work well when read by oneself and some don't (looking at you Cursed Child). The Importance of Being Ernest is just as good read as it is seen thanks to Oscar Wilde's wit. I rarely read plays I haven't seen, but it is a great way of exploring writers you like. I've only seen two Martin McDonaghs but I have read every one he has published.
Hi, sorry to reply so late, I was watching West Wing. Would love to have a go at reading aloud those scripts! If anyone has the techie to do this play reading, then come on and tell us. It would be fun.
Realise now should have spent time learning apps as now all at sea and getting a young person to explain down the phone rather than just giving them the phone to sort is not as easy.
