Anyone watching on ITV?
Adaptation of Julian Fellowes’ novel of the same name (please, no spoilers). Same creative team as Downton Abbey too as it shows - it really feels like it’s set in that Downton Abbey world, which means it gets a thumbs up from me.
Apparently Lord Fellowes is open to a second series too. Based on the opening I do hope so.

It's being billed as a 'limited' series but I imagine if it's a success for ITV in the UK and Epix in the US, it'll no doubt it'll be renewed.

I listened to the audiobook last year, which is really good, so I'd recommend that. It's on audible. It is only one book though, there isn't a second and depending on how much of the story they do this time round there isn't scope for a second series...

Tamsin Greig was interviewed and was very clear it was one series only whether that was based on the book's plot I don't know but guess if they set up the world and the big bucks come in they might try just following another minor character or something? Does Julian Fellows write exclusively about class and posh period people?

They certainly didn't skimp on the production values. It is a shame that the big reveal was somewhat spoilered by the trailer.
Nice to see Tamsin G doing good work but she should have been aged more. Her character is around 60/65 in the main body of the narrative and she really doesn't look any older than she does in the flashbacks.
Lovely costumes. Nice music. Easy to enjoy.

When I read the book I thought he's bound to adapt this for the TV and here we are.
The book is quite a 'guilty pleasure' page-turner and I greatly enjoyed tonight's episode.

Does Julian Fellows write exclusively about class and posh period people? Almost always, but he did write the book for the School of Rock musical. Which is just bizarre when you consider the rest of his stuff.

He is working on The Gilded Age for HBO (Downton prequel) and also a drama series for Netflix exploring the origin of football.
Personally I just want Downton Abbey Movie 2.
