I am probably one of the few here who saw him on stage, an Old Vic production of The Tempest in 1988 directed by Jonathan Miller with an eclectic cast which also included Alexei Sayle, Rudolph Walker and Cyril Nri. 3*.

The greatest Jesus on screen ever imo with Robert Powell a close contender...a great character actor...and who can forget Ming The Merciless....Altogether now...Gordon’s aliveeee!!

I saw that too. Just at the start of my serious theatre going. I basically went to see him, i already knew him as a film legend. He would have been a great Lear, not sure if he ever played it in Scandinavia. The Exorcist, Flash Gordon, Greatest Story, Seventh Seal. Legend. |
