I’m interested to see if Rupaul can carry this. Anyone listening to his podcast over the last 6 months cannot fail but to have clocked his insecurity about acting. It looks great and nice to see lots of familiar RPDR faces in the trailer but it’s going to need a strong performance from Ru and I’m not getting great vibes from what we see here. Let’s hope I’m wrong!
Streaming from January 10th.

Just watched episode 1. It's ok but very predictable. Will watch the series but dip in and out rather than binge watch it all in one go.

Watched a couple of episodes tonight and enjoyed it. Nice to see the Queens get a chance to shine. And the actor playing AJ is incredible given their age and experience level.
Not earth shattering but diverting and good to see Ru do some old school performing

I'm enjoying it. It's a fun, easy watch and there's lots of nice little touches for Drag Race fans, like Jinx playing a character called Edie.
Also, loved that they did an obscure song from Best Little Whorehouse, a show i have loved for over 30 years.

Just watched episode 1. It's ok but very predictable. Wow, was it ever. I don't think there was a single plot development that couldn't be seen coming a mile off. It's watchable enough, though, and the characters are likeable, so I daresay I'll stick with it for a few more episodes at least.

It’s a complete vanity project. E01 was dreadful... how many times was it mentioned that the room mate was blind?. The storylines are full of holes and the script is cringe. It’s fun to see lots of Ru girls doing cameos but what we learn from this is that with a couple of exceptions doing drag absolutely does not mean you can act. This also busts the myth that’s been the fundamental concept of RPDR that Rupaul is brilliant at everything, and is someone that all other queens should aspire to be like. She really is not. The acting is very limited, more so out of drag, and even in the drag numbers the dancing and singing aren’t great. Maybe that’s deliberate, he’s playing a jobbing drag queen not a superstar but I’m not convinced. His whole drag schtick is very stuck in the 80s/90’s when you compare it with the new crowd. Maybe this is the real reason why he doesn’t perform anymore?
After four episodes of looking at that kid playing angry and damaged in rotation I’ve stalled.

I made it all the way to the end last night...
It is a bland but mildly enjoyable effort as a whole and the back end is certainly much stronger than the first half.
Latrice Royale and Monique Hart are both revelations in their Ep/s and are both hilarious and credible and believable. Ginger Minge is also very good when he shows up at the end. The rest of the Queens however are URGH to embarrassing beyond belief!
There are a lot of great one liners in the first half, the 2nd half things get a bit more serious as the storylines are wrapped up, but in general the writing is pretty terrible.
The acting is atrocious for the most part except for AJ who does hold the whole thing together. Some of the passing characters are great and well acted, but Rupaul is just the worst. It is a very odd situation really. He is certainly not easy on the eye, he can't act, he can't sing and when he does actually perform as 'the star' of the series it's like MEH!
So why exactly does this even exist and why the hell did it need 10 episodes to tell such a nothing story, especially when it ends exactly the same as you predicted it would in Ep2?
Which bring us to 'the ending'...
I won't give it away and I assume it was totally created in the edit suite to leave this mess with a cliffhanger in the hope it'll get a 2nd series. But by doing what they do it totally robs the audience of what they have been waiting 10 hours for. It is so badly edited and the music so totally inappropriate and hammy it is quite unbelievable they finished it in such a way.
So in the end while being somewhat enjoyable in parts, it is like being punched in the face for 10 hours, before being kicked in the balls.
2.5/5

I've watched the first episode but definitely can't bear to watch any further! Just dreadful.
