I saw this in Sheffield on Saturday, the final day of the tour's visit to that venue, and though the reviews hadn't been that encouraging, the matinee was sold out and it proved well worth seeing for me. I hadn't read Matt Haig's book and wondered if the subject would be too close for comfort as my partner suffers from severe depression, but in fact I found the adaptation illuminating and resonant. I don't know whether other audience members had the same or a similar interest or connection, but I was one of many leaping to their feet at the end. A pretty intense 75 - 80 minutes but recommended.
The tour visits Bristol this week, then Huddersfield, Newcastle, Manchester, York and Leeds.
