An intimate performance in a theatre with a capacity of 1,216? Intimate compared to the o2.

An intimate performance in a theatre with a capacity of 1,216? He's taking the adjective from Cameron's book of marketing. Love me some JOJ but having seen him perform these a million times recently, not sure I'll go...but hope it's a success and as enjoyable as his 50th birthday concert.

An intimate performance in a theatre with a capacity of 1,216? Some skill is needed in deciphering the true meaning behind press copy. "Intimate" in this case means JOJ and a microphone, with a small band. It is managing expectations for those expecting laser light shows, special guests and pyrotechnics. Oh, and there is no way JOJ could fill the o2. He's still a complete unknown outside of musical theatre circles.

I hope this is allowed. I've just listed for resale on Ticketmaster 2 tickets for the concert at Her Majesty's. Row C in the stalls. I'm selling at face value with Ticketmaster adding on their charge. You can find it on their app/website.

Just saw Music of the Night at New Mills. What a treat it was.
Not only a brilliant singer as usual but a very funny guy. The show was half songs and half banter with the audience, with some jabs at two certain singers whose last names begin with 'B'. Even had a moment when he was pleased to hear an old lady who came from Burry Port, Wales, like him.
The songs he sang included This is the Moment, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, something from 'Nine', Maria, Evermore, Till I Hear You Sing, Music of the Night, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Why God Why, Anthem, Loosing My Mind (well half of it whilst the guy on the keyboard whose name escapes me sung the first half), Al Jonson's Sunny Boy, I'd Rather Be Sailing from A New Brain, Tell my Father from Frank Wildhorn's Civil War, Stars, I Dreamed a Dream and Bring Him Home, and a song based on Dylan Thomas' Under Milk Wood

Seeing him in sunny Rhyl on Wednesday. His previous shows have been with a band of 6or 7 but I believe this one is more intimate with just John Quirk his MD on keys and a cello? Still a number of the songs listed were performed on his previous shows but that's how he likes to do it apparently, but good to see some new ones. I'm guessing the Dylan Thomas one was Eli Jenkins Prayer.

The cellist was off with COVID on Saturday John told us. Made a thing of asking is anyone plays a cello and an audience member said they like limoncello, to which he said we have a cultured audience in

Great concert in Rhyl last night as expected. Program as described by david J above. An added bonus for me and my two friends was as we were having our usual late night stop at McDonalds in Rhyl, in walked John and his MD. After he happily had a photo or two, they the came to sit with us (even though the restaurant was empty) and chatted away about the show, the tour, where we were from and even shared our chips as he had forgotten to order his during his wrestle with the touchscreen. Just as engaging off stage as on it.
