I wish they would do Stages at Butlins as I get sea sick. I'd pay to be there to watch the usual clientele mix with the musical theatre types. Butlins in Minehead used to do a Country Music weekend every March that I used to go to and there were always some people who had just booked a Butlins weekend away without checking the events calendar. Watching their horror as they realised that all the entertainment for the weekend was country artists they’d never heard of and all the usual activities had been replaced by line dancing classes was always very amusing!!

Thought Dublin was a bit of a lame choice for this year With imagination, they could have rounded off with a live "immersive" version of "Once" in the street where it is set. I wish they would do Stages at Butlins as I get sea sick. I'd pay to be there to watch the usual clientele mix with the musical theatre types. They’d never fork out for that. Far too imaginative 😂

Sailing to Bruges next year. I’m just back from this year’s and have had an amazing time. Highly recommend. Great amount of stuff onboard from Stephen Schwartz to Rogers & Hammerstein and Sondheim...something for everyone. Alice Fearn listening to Rachel Tucker and vice versa...I’m campaigning for an Elphaba sing off next year with those two, Cassidy and Kerry Ellis!

Had an email flogging next years so I went for a look. I do like the line up but there is no way I want to be confined to a cabin that size with another person, no matter who it is, and as there’s no single occupancy discount you effectively pay double. Then there’s the compulsory £13 a day gratuity charge, some other tax of £50 and then a drinks package costing £165 thank you very much. And then you need a hotel in Southampton the night before. Tot that lot up and it’s £1500 for a three night trip. I should cocoa!

Yes It does seem a bit(a lot) steep for a brief cruise. Admittedly you are getting the show element but even accounting for that with the extras etc you are looking at a tidy sum for the 3 nights.

Last year I paid around £750 for an outside view cabin which I shared with my mum and a close friend. It wasn't huge but we were only in there to shower and sleep. The beds were very comfortable I remember. It was a lot of money but I got a lot out of it, seeing people I hadn't seen in shows before such as John Owen Jones and Cassidy Jansen, both of whom were amazing. Plus the conversation with Don Black was fascinating, and not something I would have thought to book for if I'd seen it advertised in a theatre. We did pay for the drinks package too, but as it included alcohol we indulged quite a bit!

Tot that lot up and it’s £1500 for a three night trip. I should cocoa! That's ridiculous. Next month my mother and I are going on a 19 day cruise for £1500 each. Admittedly, based on previous cruises, the entertainment standard will to be pretty low, but in terms of board & lodging, quite apart from visiting far more locations, it's far better value for money.
