Does anyone have recommendations on what to see in New York during the beginning of May? Theatre, musical or dance recommendations all welcome. On or off broadway is fine.
Preferably not anything that can be seen in London, was a London transfer or will come to London.
Thank you!

To Kill A Mockingbird is fantastic, if you can get a ticket!

The Prom. You could also do Oklahoma! if you are not planning on going to see it at Chichester.

I'm gonna agree with The Prom - a wonderful show unlikely to make it over to London. Will also agree with Oklahoma! Because it is a wonderful production.
Mean Girls would be my next recommendation but it is very likely to transfer.

The Irish Repertory Theater, one of New York's theatrical treasures, has been presenting a season of Sean O'Casey plays. I've seen Shadow of a Gunman and Juno and the Paycock, both excellent productions; The Plough and the Stars opens tomorrow. The plays are in rep.; the series has been extended. irishrep.org

When are you there, greenswan? I am flying out tomorrow for 4 nights. So far only have tickets for Norma Jeane Baker of Troy and planning to wing it a bit for the rest!

Tomorrow for five nights . I’m taking note of all the recommendations here but have to agree with the friend I’m travelling with. So nothing formed up yet.

We’re seeing Norma Jean Baker of Troy at The Shed. Nothing else booked yet - hoping to win the TodayTix lotto for Burn This. I have heard good things about What The Constitution Means To Me, so we might try that.

Very belatedly - we saw The Prom and Oklahoma! both of which were great in different ways. I ended up listening to The Prom. soundtrack quite a lot.
