I'm temporarily putting this here as we don't know where it is going to premiere and also, even though it's a "play with music" I get Blood Brothers vibes so let's happily pit this here for now. The film Nowhere Boy; a biopic on the life of John Lennon, is being turned into a stage adaptation. Currently in early stages, it's being produced by Robyn Goodman and Josh Fiedler (Avenue Q), and co-produced by Brian and Dayna Lee. It will feature Lennon's music of the 1950's but none from the Beatles. www.broadway.com/buzz/195557/john-lennon-biopic-nowhere-boy-will-be-adapted-into-a-stage-production/

Could be interesting. I enjoyed Backbeat based on the Hamburg years although that was a bit of a flop I think.
"The project is expected to be a play with music, featuring Lennon's rock-and-roll hits of the 1950s"
Oh yes, those many rock-and-roll hits Lennon had in the 50s! Presume they mean "rock-and-roll hits of the 1950s which Lennon covered"
Surprised to realise that the film was 10 years ago!

Interesting to hear about this as I really enjoyed the film so hope it translates well to the stage.
