Right, well this is my first reply to the new board. Still buzzing about Show Boat in Sheffield on Saturday... but hello forumites!

I just removed TheatreForum from the favourites on my phone and replaced it with TheatreBoard - now I feel like I've properly committed to our new home.

I've been doing some archaeology. The first public post on the WhatsOnStage forum went to Lee W (linked to save bandwidth for people who don't care). My first post seems to have been unexpectedly prescient. Consider the penultimate paragraph in the light of what eventually happened.

Yes the "new" board started in Feb 2007 and had a rocky start - loads of spam posts and a particularly nasty troll which older members might remember! WoS were very resistant to the idea of registration.
... and Lee W did not seem to stay the course!!

Just a thought for the security conscious! As Matthew pointed out in a post on the old forum, we don't know if theatremania will actively shut down and remove the old site, or if it will just sit there as a dead site, with nobody looking after security etc.
So it might be an idea to modify your profile there to avoid any security issues - eg change your email address to one you don't mind being spammed, make sure your password is not one you use for other sites, make sure your birthday isn't set to your actual birthday, etc.

We have officially launched today. Which means if any of you have social media accounts, or blogs, or write for any websites or have any press contacts, then please now feel free to spread the word in whatever way you can.
Also, to celebrate us being official we have a competition open to all members, where you can win two tickets to a In The Heights performance of you choice. You can find it in the new 'competitions' section. Good Luck.

Been lurking since the WOS debacle and move here but actually got around to registering - thanks to all behind the new board!
