So I got the opportunity to go along and see this tonight, just wow what a stunning take on the show and a beautiful production.
The cast were all on form and I love the actor/musician angle with the stripped back set. It just works so well and really pushes through the story and solidarity of the 'Ford' women.
I liked that Daniella had a different feisty take on 'Rita' and didn't copy Gemma's performance (of course she may not have seen the production when it was on in London of course!). There was a big dramatic moment that corrects itself here (was done too quickly on the West-End and here it takes a moment to soak in the moment!
Oh I have now found my new theatre crush, Alex as 'Eddie O'Grady' I just wanted to snuggle (great guitar player and that voice on 'The Letter').
Great standing ovation, my 10th time at this show and yes I cried!
I can't wait to return to this on closing night to 'Stand Up'.
5*

I went on Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed the production. Daniella and Alex were fabulous and must mention Angela Bain as Beryl was hilarious> I too am heading back on the closing night. Cant wait!

Final London show audio is now on YouTube! such an amazing performance, I don't think I'll forget it. Especially the finale when the audience stood the entire final song and clapped and the moment where Gemma and Naomi cracked up in the second half. (at about 1h 47m the cracking up starts)
Honestly if you get the chance to listen, a brilliant final performance with an insane audience!

I was in that audience, 2nd row from front. I was SO stoned that I thought I was gonna freak out when they started singing!

I went to the last night on Saturday in Hornchurch for a 2nd dose of this current production (now in Ipswich) and boy it's such a strong strong.
It was a full house on Saturday night and the cast played it like a last performance, really went for it. Many laughs and tears.
It's a wonderful show and so pleased it's had a new lease of theatre life!

Yes I have now been at 3 final night shows for 'MID' - West-End, Wolverhampton and now Hornchurch!!!
Nothing will quite beat that amazing atmosphere of the West-End closing night, Les Mis 30th came close!

I've just been in an amateur production of this. I can honestly say that this is the best show I have been in - and I have been doing this for many years. I had goosebumps singing "Storm clouds" and "Stand Up". The audience most nights jumped to their feet at the end of Stand Up. I've had standing ovations during the bows in other shows but certainly not before them. A special special show - sad it closed but then we wouldn't have had the chance to perform it if it had still being going in the WE.

Its a night I'll never forget. Stand Up was insane. Everyone up before Gemma had finished the speech! And Gemma and Naomi's Ghandi moment was one of the funniest things I've seen on stage - completely lost it, fourth wall broken, BRILLIANCE. Special mention that Sophie Louise Dann was on FIRE that night. This show deserved a hell of a lot more than it got. New British musical, certainly one of my favourite ever shows.

It shows how incredible that show was too that even now we remember even the smallest of moments. And when Sophie Louise Dann did Ideal World and the applause just didn't stop, just kept going. It was an incredible night, and very emotional to see everyone on their feet at the end through Stand Up. Quite overwhelming that a show that only ran for 6 months can cause that much of a reaction and emotional response in the theatre.
