I will start this by admitting that being a County Galway girl, I am biased but I’m curious if any members of the forum have ever visited these festivals. They happen in the 2nd & 3rd weeks of July every year and produce some amazing theatre. It’s much smaller than Edinburgh but that means that you can get to see every show that you want, if it isn’t sold out. Yes, there will always be the occasional ‘ooh dear’ show but I have yet to see one at Galway. I have performed at Edinburgh many times & loved it, but have seen (& acted in) a good few ‘oh dear’ shows & never got to see all the shows I wanted to.
So, accepting that fringe festivals with some really tiny ( & occasionally dingy venues) might not be for everyone, what are members experience of fri ge festival shows? Thanks
