This is a bit random but I was wondering if anyone knew of a good resource for finding Theatre floor plans online. I’m not talking seating plans, I know where to find those.
I think it would be a handy way for people to familiarise themselves with Theatres beforehand; I.e. where are the toilets, where’s the bar, exits etc.
I know, personally, it’d be a great help for making a quick exit if necessary.
I found what looked like an ancient one of the Palladium, but an up to date one would be better.
Obviously I’m only talking about the public spaces, we don’t need to know the layout of backstage (even though it might be interesting).

So right. It would be brilliant to be able to remind yourself of where the toilets are espesh if taking kids.

I wonder if floor plans aren’t available for safety reasons.

I wonder if floor plans aren’t available for safety reasons. I wondered that, but as I said, if it was just the publicly accessible areas, I’m not sure why that would be.

Bit of a faff, but if the theatre has had a multi-million pound refurbishment within the internet era, the plans are usually available online via the relevant local authority website.

Nothing quite as satisfying as leaving the Olivier and watching 1,000+ people trying to pour themselves down the central staircase while you sneak out of the exit by the stalls bar. Knowing where all the exits are is even better than knowing where all the toilets are (though obviously the thirty seconds or so head-start you get for the latter is nothing to be sneezed at).
