Les Dennis and Blake Harrison star.
Bobby was once a household name with 20 million TV viewers – but now the laughter has faded. Resigned to a life of solitude and second-rate panto performances, his glory days are behind him. When Michael, the nation’s favourite comedian, arrives at his door asking for help to save his career, Bobby is unwillingly thrown into the limelight once again. A dark question lurks behind the laughs: What if, inside, you’re not the person everyone thinks you are?
Les Dennis has had an extensive TV career and is well known for his role in Coronation Street and as the host of Family Fortunes. Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners, Dad's Army) EastEnders star Nitin Ganatra and Tala Gouveia star alongside.
End Of The Pier is a powerful new black comedy from acclaimed writer Danny Robins (Rudy’s Rare Records, starring Lenny Henry at Hackney Empire and on Radio 4, and Radio 4’s The Cold Swedish Winter).
I'm definitely getting a ticket for this, apart from anything else the Park Theatre is a lovely intimate space and I always like to see stories about comedians.

Welcome to the board talkingheads.
Do you know if your production will be touring outside of London yet?

Welcome to the board talkingheads. Do you know if your production will be touring outside of London yet? Confused! I just read talkingheads' posts and there's nothing about a production, or is that a reference to a production of 'Talking Heads'? Or are you from Northern Ireland (who, a bit confusingly, sometimes use 'your' instead of 'that')!?

I wonder if nash16 was being a wag and suggesting that talkingheads is involved with "End of the Pier" and his/her post was thinly-veiled promotion... I think I am wrong, but it's fun trying to read hidden meaning into things.

It's amazing what can be read into things, I only saw a news story about the play today and thought I'd post about it, this, ya know, being a Theatre Board and all.... As for Talking Heads, Alan Bennett is my favourite writer so I picked that as my name here.

I am going to have to read all your posts in an Irish accent now however (that said, I frequently use the Irish affectation of 'your' as well in my Welsh accent)
