The documentary last night was very interesting, especially the most awkward Tosca incident. I wonder if there is another side to that story.

Probably the person in the prompt box was on a tea break thus delaying her entrance.

Yes, I too found the documentary excellent. It made me admire him even more. It is something I will definitely find worthy of repeated viewing.
It was also nice to catch the broadcast of OTELLO, that I had previously only seen in the theatre. That too came over very well.

I really enjoyed the documentary also. I felt he came across as very humble, polite, human whilst being so dedicated to his craft and perfection in it. He's an interesting person which makes his performances most enjoyable too, I think.

A little review of Kaufmann in Beijing...
He was superb, as expected. Flawless voice on the night. Very bares bones production, just him and one pianist. Which I don't mind, because you can focus on the voice, however expected a bit more for the price tag. Also after seeing pictures of the Shanghai production, they seem to have a full orchestra!!
Lastly, seeing this recital made me realise just how much I prefer Italian to German opera haha
