A very pleasing production of the old favourite. With a Chagallesque background framing the action the cast, a mix of actors and the Estonian Opera company, deliver the songs, the comedy and bathos with great timing and verve.
Managed to get a couple of very good seats which were about the only ones left in the stalls of this rather elegant and pretty, if modestly-sized, opera house.
Sung in Estonian there are subtitiles in Estonian and English, which I naturally found very helpful.
