I went to Scotland with BA and whilst I miss the free booze and snacks, it still isn't as bad as sleazyjet. We went with Vueling to Florence and it wasn't too hideous. They played Belle and Sebastian whilst we waited for take off. I am short though and I booked partner aisle seat for his long legs. You don't get free booze anymore??? I only used to fly with BA to create my own déclassé drinks cabinet 40,000 feet above the ground. It's a world gone mad. I had my flight moved to Heathrow from Gatwick. I was alerted by text message at 5am. Got there in plenty of time but once I got on that plane as everyone around me was having lunch time teas and coffees I was downing a can of Tiger with some crisps. I was all stressed, okay? |

BA, Iberia, Aer lingus, Level and Vuelling are the same airline and come under the IAG (International Airline Group) umbrella.
I flew Vuelling last year for a day trip from Palma(Majorca) to Barcelona, it is what it is wasn't too bad, flew back with Ryanair and that was the same, wasn't terrible. Use BA Citiflyer from London City Airport. 2 years back I flew back from Majorca to City and they kindly smashed my case, so fearing my case would deteriorate further if I hit a kerb - so instead of getting DLR and bus home, I had to fork out for a Black Cab, which cost me £70 which they (BA) point blank refused to refund as they said it was secondary and they would provide a note to claim off my travel insurance, but for £70 it wasn't worth it.

From Italy to London I was given this little box, On the flight back I refused. You were lucky you didn't try that on a flight back from South America, Elisa . Cabin crew on those flights would note that you refused food and suspect you had swallowed something for delivery on arrival... could have been nasty if they reported it and radioed ahead to get customs to meet the plane. Wow. Such a thought would never occur to me.  |

In answer to the question I don't fly BA as often as I used to - which was a couple of times a month, mostly short-haul - because I don't like the changes they have implemented. They now behave as an expensive budget airline if you are in Economy and skimp on everything even if you fly Club. I know their long-haul service is much better but then it has to be hasn't it? There's some very serious competition out there.
I agree with Kathryn's comment about Cruz, but that is in fact very much related to the merger with Iberia and to the sordid tale of how Iberia acquired Vueling.

Just to move a stagnant conversation on, than start a new thread.
Has anyone flown Norwegian? If so and you like going to New York, well Norwegian are starting another flight to New York JFK, however this is leaving at a eye watering 6am and arrives at 9am, which is great on a Wednesday or Saturday if you want to catch a two show day, but I think to use this service you have to be comfortable sleeping at 38.000 ft.

Phantom a few of us were chatting on the Groundhog day thread about this last week...as Monkey says, seems it's basic but OK unless they have an aircraft problem in which cast expect delays.

I blame Freddie Laker for all this shenanagins. Paying for drinks et al. When I fly BOAC on the Empire route, the steward Is always so polite and 'umble especially when the Yorkshire puddings don't rise.
