Just watched London Palladium and had a really pleasant surprise. I used to be a massive B &S fan, but felt that productions have been dumbed down and made modern, not staying to the score. I thought this performance really reminded me what I enjoyed about B & S and what got me into musical theatre. I really enjoyed the quality of his voice and tightness to score. He has the qualities of Anthony Warlow at the end which couldn't be a bigger compliment in my eyes. Anyone have any information on him?

He has worked in the West End for a good 10-15 years. Was a Piangi and Phantom understudy at Her Majesty's for a while, and more recently starred as Sweeney Todd in the amazing pie shop version. Has also been in Jerry Springer The Opera. Worked solidly for ages, but only in the last few years has he become a leading man - a late bloomer, but that's a great story!

These posts should be added to the thread I started last year for the amazing Jeremy SECOMB. There's no 'e' at the end of his name. He's leaving Les Mis on 15th July so you'll have to be quick if you want to see his incredible performance!
Best Javert ever!

Hoping that he'll take over as the Phantom... Oh me too! We saw him as Javert before we'd ever heard of him and came home absolutely blown away. Javert had never stuck me as much more than a sort of necessary role - sung adequately by whoever, but forgotten due to fantastic Jean Valjeans, Mariuses, Fantines, etc. etc. (The film version sort of exacerbated this....I'm looking at you Mr Crowe and adequately would have actually been a step up!) We've been waiting for a decent phantom (well, for Ben to leave at least, sorry) as we're long overdue a visit. If it's Jeremy I'll be first in the queue for tickets.

In fairness I thought Tam Mutu was also very good. I can't remember Hadley Fraser, and the other two I've seen (Adam Pearce and Haydn Tee) I'd rather just forget about. And just to correct you ever so slightly, you will be second in line for tickets should Jeremy be cast as the Phantom

He's leaving Les Mis on 15th July so you'll have to be quick if you want to see his incredible performance! Best Javert ever! Is he! I saw the performance on Wednesday night, looked at it again on Thursday night, and was at Les Mis on Friday to see him perform in person. He really was excellent! I'd booked a couple of tickets to take a friend in three weeks, just realised I'm booked for his last night - sad he's going, delighted I'll be there. I did see Hadley Fraser, I loved his performance, especially against Ramin Karminloo. I've seen Jeremy Secomb (or as Bradley Walsh pronounced it, Jeremy Sic'em) in Sweeney Todd, he has very angry eyes ....
