I love a closing night as the cast seem to really give them all and you can usually tell that they love the show as much as the audience. I've been to closing nights for The Woman in White, Spring Awakening, The Body Guard, Lord of the Rings, Miss Saigon (revival), Urinetown, Guys and Dolls (Recent revival), From Here to Eternity. It is always great when there are speeches at the end, especially when they give a glimmer of hope of a future. It is sadder for me walking past the theatre dark a few weeks later (though I still remember the Spamalot Foot stamping out The Woman in White's marquee).
