Well, she was brilliant but who would have ever thought otherwise. And she got me teary at the end with Home because that song always manages to make me emotional even though I'm not even a big fan of The Wiz. I wonder how the film will be distributed.
What was the set list, running time etc. I ended up missing this one but was desperate to go!
I bought the programme but it doesn't have a set list unfortunately so I'm gonna have to go off memory so forgive me if I forget anything. The whole thing was 2 and a half hours but it started late so it was probably more like an hour per act with a 20 minute interval.
This isn't going to be in any real order because I can't remember but she did I Am Who I Am, Pure Imagination, Cornet Man, I Could Have Danced All Night, Moonshine Lullaby, (In My) Solitude, A Sleepin' Bee, Can't Stop Talking, Before the Parade Passes By, Will He Like Me?, Rose's Turn, Gorgeous, It's Not Easy Being Green, a mashup of You've Got to Be Carefully Taught and Children Will Listen, Being Good Isn't Good Enough, Summertime, Stars and the Moon, Make Someone Happy, Climb Every Mountain, Cabaret, Home.
She definitely started with I Am Who I Am, finished Act 1 with Rose's Turn, opened Act 2 with Gorgeous, and closed the show with a slightly unconventional version of Cabaret, with Home being the final encore, but everything in between I have no idea of the order and I've probably missed some songs too.
What a great night! Audra was spectacular - I really did not expect her to sing Gypsy and Cabaret and her versions of those songs were outstanding. The stage also looked great, with a beautiful set and lights and the great orchestra. What a pleasure to be there.
