The last tour was shocking !!

Casting is currently on going (someone on my current show is being seen Monday for it).

I hope it's a decent tour...I overdosed somewhat on The Producers in the early days but it's been long enough now that I could do with some Bialystock and Bloom in my life.

This tour needs to have some good cast members, the last tour was indeed disappointing and I hated the new designs. We need a tour based upon the original production with some actors in line with the casting when it was in London.

Oh this is good news, i haven't seen a production of this and have really only just discovered it. I knew of it obviously but never really thought it would be my cup of tea but then came across some clips of it on youtube, both the film and stage show, and loved the look of it, surprisingly.
Hopefully it starts in the UK.

All I can say is the pay for cast is rather low, so don't expect a West End sized production.

To add to firefingers, it is Selladoor producing, who produced the tours of Footloose, American Idiot and soon-to-be Flashdance, just to give people a comparison scale. Also, it may only be international? Much like their new Jersey Boys is doing Dubai, China, Japan etc only, the same might also be with The Producers. Seems quite a high-profile show for Selladoor to have acquired the rights for, for a UK Tour so soon after a previous tour from a different production company.

So long as no famous comedians are involved I will be happy!

Good point! He obviously gets a free pass.
The likes of the Jupitas and Manford's do not.

Manford was ok, Jupitus.... dreadful. Why is he being cast in musicals? He can't sing, he can't dance and he can't act.

Selladoor have also recently toured little shop of horrors and avenue Q. Both great quality productions so fingers crossed

A tweet for Selladoor this morning said they were looking forward to starting auditions for The Producers 'China Tour', so I wouldn't expect to see it in the UK!

any more rumours on this tour yet? In terms of casting? Auditions have *just* started, so don't expect to hear anything for a bit.

So are they going to throw up a translation or something?
Seems a bizarre choice of things to tour in China.

That song where Biallystock recaps the whole show at breakneck speed in Act 2 will be a challenge for some hapless translator!

Also as we might not get Chinesse humour - the Chinesse might not get Western humour.
