I just watched the Rene Zellweger movie “My One and Only” and couldn’t help imaging what a fab musical it would make.
It’s a mother with two teenage sons who travels across the US in the 1950s looking for a rich husband. It was surprisingly touching and would be a fantastic star vehicle.

Chocolat Muppet Christmas Carol (or Muppets Take Manhattan) ET (we need flying on bikes across stage and into audience) Slumdog Millionaire Patch Adams Last Holiday And….. A Kylie or Madonna jukebox (ok not current material!) Why is there not a musical based on Madonna or Kylie's music. The closest we've come is Pricilla. The original production used Kylie, the Broadway version used Madonna.

Let us not forget that Desperately Seeking Susan - The Musical featured songs by Madonna Blondie. Because we all saw that coming didn’t we!
Needless to say it ran for just 2 months at the Novello.

Classic comedies e.g. One Foot in the Grave, Father Ted There was supposed to be a Father Ted musical this year. Neil Hannon of The Divine Comedy (who wrote the theme tune and My Lovely Horse from the Song for Europe episode) had been working on the score since 2019. Unfortunately it was axed due to co-creator Graham Linehan's controversial views.
